SUMMER MOVIE SEASON REVIEW (2020) --- There weren't a lot of movies this season and I still missed many of the VOD releases. The Streaming Wars have resulted in too many Platforms from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, Shutter, Apple TV+, Peacock, etc that my bank account just cannot afford all of these subscriptions. Magnus Chase an The Gods Of Asgard: The Sword Of Summer by Rick Riordan Book rating: 5/5 I really love Rick’s books but this one is my favourite. It’s so good I swear. Although I had doubts in this book because I don’t usually read published books because I was a wattpad nerd but since this is a few of the first published books i’ve read it’s actually really good(after this i went on reading percy jackson) RICK IS AMAZING! Okay so on my review This book is about a guy who became homeless because his mom got killed by some wolves in their apartment. Two years later still living in the street he was startled to find missing posters of himself everywhere which were made by his uncle randolph whom his mom always warmed him about. He was then attacked by a fire giant, he fought then died. But then his death was a start of a new beginning.. Okay was that lame?? It sounded cool in my head. Well besides that pardon me i’ve only written book reviews on wattpad and i dont know how to make a good one here yet. But anyways, lets continue. The story itself is amazing, seriously. But I also looove the characters. I love how sam is a muslim because its so empowering. I love how hearth is so strong despite his disorder. I love how blitz is kind and always there for his friends. I love how magnus, despite losing everything continues to stay strong.

I enjoy EJ's stories and this one did not disappoint. I love that she had me laughing out loud as I read it, and felt the heart break that the characters felt. I loved the godmother and would actually love to see EJ write her story, perhaps as a novella, or some other sort story like she has for for this fairy tale series. It was a fund light romantic read, and a great twist on a classic. EJ does mention in her author's note at the end that this is not historical fiction, just a nice fiction story so she is perhaps a little more modern with some of the speech of the characters and such so I glad I read that note early on and not at the end. It would be nice for the publishers to put that at the front of the book. I can't wait to read the next in the series.
