Some stuff im creating for a little prince reimagine

As good an actor/singer as Jeremy Jordan is, I can’t get over the lyrics in Hurricane. I felt like there was potential but they either didn’t have the time to devote to writing it or didn’t know Light’s character well enough to write in his POV, so I made some improvements. Some lines are really good though so I kept them - if I were to direct this musical, these are the changes I’d make.

Hurricane

Did I hear correctly?

Could it be I’m dreaming?

I rewrote his fate when I wrote down his name.

Killing indirectly,  pen and ink and paper;

Writing is the gun, I only have to aim.

Could this be the hour?

Unimagined power

waiting to devour

who I say?

Isn't it true sometimes that storms are all that can break the drought

Perhaps with this, I’ll be the wind clearing clouds.

The earth may shake, my soul may scream.

Sometimes restoring balance takes a hurricane!

The justice I'm chasing,

has no time for wasting.

Humanity’s embracing a bright new day.

Take what fortune grants you.

Use it while you've got it.

The show must go on,

Now I control the play.

Elegant solution,

Flawless execution,

righteous retribution on the way.

My hands the means, my heart the will,

And so my storm will rage until

These human stains

Have all their sins blown away.

Mine may remain,

But not in vain.
