it is incredibly unusual for a legislature to be specifically designed to make the legislative process as slow-moving and convoluted as ours is. also for it to be so incredibly difficult to amend our constitution or even draft a new constitution altogether. thats not even getting into the role of the judiciary or the unique nature of our executive branch. and its not a coincidence that this fossilized system of government was put in place 250 years ago by a bunch of slave-owning colonizers who broke away from their imperial core because they didnt want to pay taxes lol

jesus christ, i experienced brief but severe grief over not actually being able to experience this.

I think it would feel like a lizard tongue but I've never had a lizard drink out of my hand either, and thus the whole thing remains conceptually elusive.

This makes me indescribably overjoyed.

"tbh we might have clowned on [aros & aces] a lil too harshly" bigotry. the term you're looking for is bigotry. denying communities their vocabulary and ability to safely exist because you think you're the personal arbiter of which identities are "valid" is bigotry. minimizing and infantilizing and harassing entire groups of people based on their orientation is bigotry. aphobia isn't some forgettable phase of being cringe as a teenager, it's bigotry that inflicted long term damage to these communities.
