Like he gave everything to the eye and it threw him away like he was nothing. He had killed a lot of people and even ones he had loved. He had to kill his humanity and even who he was for it. He spent centuries sacrificing and serving it so it can have the world in its image, So it can have power. And it threw him away without a second thought. For someone who was trying to kill it.
If the theory that the fears are different now, imagine how scared he’ll be when he wakes up, doesn’t know this and thinks the eye cut him off completely. He dedicated his life to it. Now that it’s gone, what would he even do.
I like to think that Jonah was actually a person at some point. before the eye. That he genuinely loved Barnabas and all of them. That he had motivations outside of the eye. Before he threw them away for the beholding. I like to think now that he has his original voice back, and not one of the stolen ones from Elias Bouchard or James Wright, will send him on a spiral. Reminds him of who he was. And what he could’ve had if he never got involved.

I have way too much TMA AUs in my brain.
For some reason most of them involve Jonah. Right now I'm deep into thinking about a georgian Jon AU.
Basically in the early days of the Magnus Institute, before Jonah killed his friends and when he still did his research himself he finds the tale of a boy who saw his bully get eaten by a book. Now Jonah sees a lot of himself in the boy (some acurrate, the driven nature, the curiosity, the eye influence and some that it's pure projection like Jonah fully thinking Jon subconciously wanted the bully to die in his place and planned for it) and ends up taking the boy under his wing. And moving him and his grandma to the Magnus mansion (I think Jon's grandma could be convinced because being an old lady rasing a kid by herself in the 90's is hard in the 1800 is way harder).
Cut to present and tired traumatized immortal Jon has spended at least a century trying to not become a monster, helping braver less tired people stop apocalipses and trying to figure out what's the Watchers Crown and how to stop it. (Jonah didn't realized or don't want to realize that Jon is the Archive and is trying to use Sasha the new Archivist instead).
Mostly of course is just an excuse to imagine my version of Jonah's Georgian Harem without caring for the continuity. I have some hot takes about Robert.
