Stainless Steel refret completed on the Fender Deluxe Strat from 2012. • This was this Guitars second refret, so the decision was made to go for the much harder wearing frets. Nothing polishes up and feels smoother than stainless steel. Just finished a large, but very rewarding job on this very well travelled and very well played Cuenca Electro Acoustic Steel Strung Guitar. . It was initially in for partial fret dress, it its initial appraisal quickly highlighted some more serious issues that needed to be addressed. It had a very humpy fingerboard, which has been fully levelled and re-radiused. It’s also had a full refret, and and I’ve swapped out the existing nut and saddle with totally handcrafted unbleached bone versions. . The fingerboard levelling and final fret dressing was done using the @stewmac_guitar Dan Erlewine Neck Jig, to ensure as accurate a job as possible. The contrast in both tone and playability of before and after are worlds apart.
