Okay, but the lettering on the envelope just threw me out of nowhere. So much so that everything was white noise for a second or two, and I really only got the gist of what the letter actually SAID.

On the 'masculine'/'mature' fic front, I think the major thing that draws me to those types of stories (if I'm thinking of the same sort as you meant) is that they rely more heavily on grey-space writing for relationships than my lighter-hearted favourites. It works well for me because that's absolutely how I approach the comics 90% of the time, so it meshes more easily. That feeling of poking at some underlying, much larger issue makes the emotions actually on display that much more poignant.

I know there are at least a few fics for the epic tragedy that was Hamilton/Laurens
