For those who have been hanging out on ComicFury, you might have noticed I did a character-building exercise called "The 100 Least Important Things To Know About Your Character" for Nib, Pennie, and Reed. Some of the answers got very interesting, and here are few of them out of context.

Nib!Mettaton

Reed!Flowey

[A]sking others for forgiveness means nothing if you're just doing it to be spared.

Is there really such a thing as a petty reason to break up your connection with someone? Think about it. Will convincing yourself to stay make your connection to that person any stronger? Will ignoring that petty reason forever still make you happy to be around them? And if someone gave a reason for breaking up with you, and you thought their reason sounded petty, well, could you justify trying to fix things and keep that connection alive?... Well, I really hope didn't say "yes" to that last question. If you did that, you'd be miserable forever. And we wouldn't want THAT, would we?

Any good storywriter will tell you that a good story involves some kind of problem or conflict; here I present to you a conflict with no context:

For those following the blog closely, you might already know that I was working on two chapters simultaneously at the same time. I originally had planned to get one of the chapters uploaded by August, but I got hugely sidetracked because I got bitten by a tick and I’m currently on antibiotics as a result. 

I’m fine all things considered, but the whole situation just kinda sucks. Do what I say, not what I did: Use bug spray and wear long pants tucked inside socks when in wooded areas known to harbor disease-carrying ticks. 

Anywho, here’s a sneak peek on one of the comic pages. Page under the cut because it looks kinda scary.

One of the stipulations for entering SwingTale was that visitors would end up having pie-cut eyes (like you see in the 1920s cartoons) and that everything would be monochrome. 

I do my comic in black-and-white monochrome, but more in a manga/comic style. So sepia-monochrome would be a bit of an interesting art challenge to tackle. I had a jar of faux walnut ink and did some testing with that using a dip pen, in combination with colored pencils and markers. I think it looks okay, but I found that doing the line art in dip pen was an unnecessary time sink, so I’ll need to invest in some brown fine liners. I also need to figure out how to get a greyish brown for Undyne’s skin color, but that’s more of a color-mixing problem that I can tackle later.

I ended up giving Nib a different outfit here. His default outfit actually did fit the 1920s era, but that of the Victorian Era and not the Swing Era. I couldn't have Nib step into SwingTale looking like he just came from Downton Abbey, so I took off his tailcoat and gave him long pants and Swing Era shoes. Ended up playing with the shoe styles of the SwingTale characters also for fun (because, why not?). 

Well, that's a first for me, I finished a comic cover before I finished the pages. :P You now know the title of the next story before I released it. The pages will be coming after this, once I finish the lettering (which is hopefully soon, this comic is kind of a short one).

I decided to stray away from doing MS Paint greyscale tones and go full on color for the comic cover; do you guys like it? I'll be coloring the covers for the comics "Calamus Est", "Mirrored Memory", and "Sonderengel" and uploading them later. "Deviancy" is undergoing a rewrite and redraw, so that cover is going to be done later ("The Break of Dawn" I decided to make non-canon to Nib's story, as I'm kind of waiting to see what becomes of Gaster in Deltarune, so that cover won't be colored).

Plot: Pennie!Temmie’s plans to help Swapfell(Red)!Temmie and her human companion Swapfell(Red)!Chara out of debt results in Nib working for Swapfell(Red)!Grillby under less-then-favorable conditions.
