A noteworthy moment at Cardozo Law School

Last Wednesday, I represented the Red Umbrella Project on a panel at Cardozo Law School entitled "Sex Workers and The Law" featuring me, Dr. Svati Shah from UMass Amherst, Kate Mogulescu from the Legal Aid Society, and ADA Christine Guida from Nassau County's Special Victims Unit.

Not only did this panel do a great job at having a concise and frank conversation about the laws around sex work, just before the panel began one of the law students came up to me and said "I just want you to know that there are people here that are supportive and open minded, and very interested in hearing a sex worker perspective on these issues."

It was a very sweet, genuine moment, and a wonderful surprise. I'm very excited to see the transcript published in Cardozos' Law Journal this February.
