7 for Garrus and 49 for both Jane and Garrus, please? :') Aaaand if you're feeling like it - 20 for Albacus?
You got it! Thank you for asking! :)
7. Did they have lots of friends as a child? Did they keep any of their childhood friends into adulthood? Garrus had plenty of friends growing up on Palaven. Both he and Solana were gregarious and fun (Solana being only slightly shyer and artsier than her brother), but thanks to leaving home to train at 15, then coming back after his first tour to find his parents were splitting and dad was relocating to the Citadel, things kind of got uprooted. As such, he doesnāt have much contact with those early childhood friends anymore. Solana stayed with mom, so she probably hung on to a few more of those people. Might be some opportunities for Garrus to reopen those connections (for better or worse) during the latter hours of the Reaper War⦠thanks for the idea! haha!
49. What is their most valued object? Are they sentimental? Is there something they have to take everywhere with them? For Garrus, itās his model ship collection. Heās been adding to it since he was young, and it came with him from Palaven. His mom makes a habit of sending him a ship every year, at least once - usually on his birthday. For fun, I have a list of some of the ships on his shelves in my notes, and I donāt know when/if Iāll get a chance to name them in the story, so Iāll just copy/paste it verbatimā¦
Garrus has been making model ships since he was a kid, he has a crazy collection spanning all kinds of species and eras, even a few in bottles. Heās currently working on a wooden model of Admiral NelsonāsĀ HMS Victory.Ā Among his collection:- Destiny Ascension- PCC Kara (the Turian Titanic)- RMS Titanic (the human Titanic)- Kwunu (Vol Protectorate sole dreadnaught)- a generic Kowloon Class Freighter- Fuchsian Infinity (Hero ship from the Blasto film series)- SSV Agincourt (Frigate that protected Elysium from Terminus Systems ships during the Skyllian Blitz of 2176. Former posting of Charles Pressly)- Iktomi (Quarian Liveship)- PFSĀ Rhapsodon (Admiral Mehrkuriās vessel from the Krogan Rebellions, found around 200 years ago orbiting Pressha)- PFS Tenefalx (Shepard gets understandably emotional when she sees this model. Garrus tells her to keep it. She says she doesnāt have a safe place to put it, but when the mission is over, she promises to come back for it.)
For Jane, itās her fatherās gun. More on that later. *wink*
20. Do they like musicals? Music in general? What do they do when theyāre favourite song comes? Hmm. Musicals, probably not. Music in general? Sure. I imagine he was fond of pretentious Asari stuff for a while, since he spent some time as a young soldier under the wing of Matriarch Benezia, and wanted to look wordly and capable. He probably made a show of enjoying those concerts a bit more than he actually did - six-hour operas are a bit much for anybody - but the appreciation comes from a real place. He values the arts and has somewhat discerning (read: snobby) taste, thanks to his privileged upbringing.Ā
And⦠okay. I have a really dumb headcanon that once he relocates to Mindoir, he finds an antique record player (in the care of his would-be human employer) and tinkers with it till he gets it working again. With the turntable comes a collection of old earth standards, most notably some Frank Sinatra records, miraculously playable. I think heās slow-dancedĀ with Hannah toĀ āThatās Lifeā or āMy Wayā more than a few times. I donāt care how stupid or self-indulgent that is, Albacus Regidonis incongruously being a Sinatra fan is a pretty indestructible headcanon of mine at this point, haha. Nevermind that heās 230+ years too late and several planets/cultural reference points removed from āOl Blue Eyesā¦
