There are many great and many mediocre horror series on the internet, and a decent chunk of those are hosted on Youtube. A portion of those are Analog Horror-- and few of that small group are any good. The Oakburn Opus is one of those rare few. While unfinished (as of the time of this post), it is still being updated and is nearly complete.
The sound design, visual metaphors, characterization and balance between showing and telling are masterful, and it only gets better with every episode. I cannot stress enough that this series is beautiful, in every sense of the word. I don't write reviews often, as my followers surely know, but this series... I can't go without sharing it everywhere I know. Please go watch it. Then watch it again, and notice even more that you missed the first time. The pacing. The tension. The writing and blocking... majestic. Breathtaking. RedDiamond taps into the oft-tread depths of mythos and legend and creates a masterpiece unlike anything you've seen before.
Set aside about an hour and a half to watch this series, it's so worth it. And maybe when you're done, watch the VHS playlist on RedDiamond's channel as well. Did I mention the soundtracks to both of these series are available on REDDIAMONDEXTRAs?
Come to Old Oakburn, and stay a while. The water's fine.
