I am still learning about recycling. It turns out that so many of the things I just assumed could be recycled, can't. When I think about it carefully, it makes sense. Paper plates for example need to be coated in a waxy covering to make them more durable and the dyes and paints used often make other party table ware a no-no for recycling too. It is near impossible to even find party stock that is made using recycled paper, let alone is recycleable or compostable. Of course, I could use normal plates, glasses and linen serviettes but for children's parties in particular I love putting together a theme, adding a splash of colour and if I am honest, not having to wash up at the end of the day. So I did my research and what did I find? Susty Party. Susty Party, in their own words creates 'beautiful, sustainable, compostable party tableware made in partnership with non-profit factories who employ the blind.' As you can see from above, their range is very classy, their designs are unusual right up my street and the fact that their business model is so socially and environmentally progressive gives us the feeling that we too are doing good by buying from this range.
