This is my first pencil sketch in a while. I think it’s because if I draw digitally in lectures, the profs will think I’m taking notes on my laptop, but everyone knows what I’d be doing with a sketchbook. I shouldn’t have used a mechanical pencil for this, that was probably a bold choice, but I impulse bought one at the university because I hadn’t had a working one in years.

Metzner Starlight turntable with a Shure M232 tonearm. Had to rebuild the arm bearing.
Restored this Empire 208 with Empire 98 tonearm. Such a fine piece of early hi-fidelity made in America. This is circa 1962.
