Lecture summaries // My course has a lot of themes which carry through all of our modules and on which we’re expected to connect our essays. For this reason I summarise the reading packs we’re given at each lecture onto record cards so I can easily find quotes to use in future essays.
Each reading pack is around 15-40 pages of text so it requires careful summarising. I pick out quotes which sum up the ideas in the text and pick out the themes (such as harmony, freedom or death). Often it’s made easier because I will have been through the text highlighting important quotes during the lecture and when planning the essay.
