This is an English translation of RecMel’s orange sofa interview that was released in May.

Interviewer: Today we come to you with a brand new episode of Dizi TV. Welcome to our Orange Sofa corner, where the most special, entertaining and emotional topics will be discussed by popular ATV names. The first guests on our sofa are Kardeslerim’s beloved actors: Recep Usta and Melis Minkari. Let's start by welcoming the beloved duo.

RecMel: Thank you!

Interviewer: How did you find our seats?

Melis: very nice and comfortable

Recep: I am waiting Melom

Melis: What would your reaction be if a role was stolen from you in front of someone you wanted to impress? 

Recep: If a role was stolen from in front of someone I wanted to impress then, I will wear gloves, I will be ready, I will fight if they want a fight, yes. Because I went with that intention. I mean, you said I went to impress someone. I usually wouldn't make such an effort, but this is my answer to your question.

Melis: I'm confident no one can steal a role from you.

Recep:

Recep: Then here is the second question: They say that some children show themselves when they are younger, did you have such a situation?

Melis: I mean….I think…

Recep: There was but you didn’t notice

Melis: I think there was. Because when I was a kid, my energy was spinning so fast. I mean, we used to play football and then get out of there and go play basketball and then I don't know what we would do after that. There was always so much movement and activity in my life when I was little. Now, I think the main reason why I chose acting might be because my childhood was like that.

Recep: I think so too

Melis: Recep, would you like to experience a love like Berk’s?

Recep: I mean, I think everyone would love to. I think Berk is a good lover.

Melis: I agree btw

Recep: He and Aybike look good together. I would have loved to….Like him at that age… with someone I was a good match with…I would’ve loved to experience that kind of love.

Recep: Okay then the third question is from me: Are you a self-confident person? Do you attract people’s attention when you enter a room? Do you prefer to watch or to be watched? Let’s hear it!

Melis: I mean, I feel confident about myself, but there are times when I don't. Will I be noticed when I enter a room? You know, I think “I'm not here”, but since I'm a person who likes to talk, I speak like that without thinking. I think I am someone who is not very noticeable. I don't know if I'm very noticeable.

Melis: Have you ever thought “No one one can make me do this activity/sport/initiative”

Recep: There was. I said no one can make me do this. So if I don't want to do something, no one can make me do it. That’s first. Second, I'll do it if I want to and I will do my best. Whatever happens according to my current mood, if someone tells me to do it even though I don't want to, I won't do it. I will only do it if I want to.

Melis: I don’t have any these days. I used to be more anxious. Now, I am more like: Let's see what's going on right now because I seem to be in a good mood. So I just go with the flow.

Recep: Yes that’s possible. Sometimes, I can be perceived that way because maybe people don’t get the reaction they expect from me.

Recep: When you fall in love, are you scared of rejection?

Melis: Of course. I will be scared. Everyone gets scared.

Recep: of course, why wouldn’t they? I mean, falling in love is a very serious thing.

Recep: Of course everyone has fear and anxiety. Melis Minkari also has a fear of rejection.

Melis: Have you ever thought: I wish I had a superpower like this?

Recep: I would’ve loved to fly. I would love to go places and avoid traffic.

Recep: I would’ve loved to fly

Recep: That’s it. There are a lot of superpowers that I would like to have, like flying. I don’t know, underwater, something like being able to live without breathing.

Melis: Think about it, you can swim around as long as you want.

Recep: Yes I would’ve loved to do that

Melis: Me too

Recep: Teleportation: close your eyes and you're somewhere else. It doesn't appeal to me too much. It's better to fly. After all, you’re making an effort. Also, the view is beautiful.

Melis: And if you could teleport, it would take the fun out of a lot of things

Recep: Right? There would be no excitement left in my life. 

Melis: Exactly

Melis: I am going to say something about this. It really happens because I'm an actor. Because they think you are upset about something. For example, you are not upset about the game. Why is that a lie? Because I really do what I feel like. The less I can lie in acting, the less I try to lie in front of the camera, do you understand? So guys, please believe me. Melis: Are you someone who can cry? Do you cry while watching a Turkish movie?

Recep: I cry. I think I am a very emotional person. I am. Even if some don't think so. I am a very emotional person, I always cry when I am watching something.

Recep: I cry when I am watching something. I constantly cry. It's nice. It's fun.

Melis: Right? It relaxes you

Recep: Of course.

Recep: If there is something you want to say to Recep Usta but you haven't been able to say it until now? Can you say it now?

Melis: I confess: I hate you!

Melis: I always tell you everything I think. That's why, frankly, there is nothing I am hiding from you.

Recep: There isn’t, I know.

Melis: You have a cool image. Do you consider yourself a cool person? Do you try hard to be charismatic?

Recep: It should not be misunderstood as an egoic side, but I don't think there is a situation where I see myself as a cool person or work hard on my appearance to make myself look a certain way.

This is a translation of Melis & Recep’s back to back Onedio Interview. Melis and Recep will be asked questions and they will answer with either “Evet” (Yes) or “Hayir” (No). If their answers match, they win some points.

Interviewer: Recep and Melis, Welcome to back to back

Recep & Melis: Thank you

Interviewer: We will ask you some questions so you can try to get to know each other without you facing each other. Each matching answer you give in the form of yes and no will earn you 200 Turkish Lira. If you decide to leave at the end of the program, you will not receive the money prize. Good luck.

Recep & Melis:

Interviewer: Will you send a picture of someone you will meet for the first time to your close friends?

Recep & Melis:

Melis: Of course. I mean I'll ask directly. Are you crazy? I need their approval. I mean, no approval is required, of course. I make the final decision but still I want to ask for their opinion on this.

Recep: I have no idea. Let it be a surprise. If I have something to tell my friends, I will tell them after the surprise. That's why I would never post a photo, so I don't need to consult anyone.

Melis: So you would tell them how the meeting went after you met that person? 

Recep: Yes, of course

Recep & Melis:

Melis: That's impossible! Of course everyone does this.

Recep: No, I am not lying!

Melis: Good, okay

Interviewer: Your answers didn’t match again

Recep: Are we incompatible?

Melis: I think Reco acts too cool when it comes to these things.

Recep: Let's see, we're just getting started.

Interviewer: Aren't you going to comment on this (she meant the question)?

Recep: I wouldn’t do something like this, why would I? I don’t need to.

Interviewer: You like that person and you want to talk to them but you want to look cool.

Recep: Why would I choose texting to look cool? If I want to look cool in person, I would do something, but I wouldn't try to express that through a text. Also, they might understand that through a text but they also might not. Maybe they won’t understand, maybe they don’t look at their phone. 

Melis: If I had to comment on this, I would say that I would’ve used my my flirting tactics in this case.

Interviewer: I agree with Melis.

Melis: I think that’s the right move.

Interviewer: Let’s move on to the 3rd question. Do you have a principle like “I would never date someone I work with”?

Recep & Melis: 

Melis: No, I don’t have such principle. I think anyone can come out from anywhere at any time.

Recep: Of course, It's a matter of the heart. You can have feelings for someone you work with, you never know. Therefore, I do not have such principle.

Melis: But I think if you're going to have a relationship with someone from work, you need to be sure about that person. Otherwise, you will get into trouble for nothing. Is it worth it or not? It is necessary to find an answer to that question. Was I able to explain it? I think Reco didn’t understand.

Recep: Never mind, I just got stuck on the trouble part.

Interviewer: Would you do something you never wanted to do just because your girlfriend/boyfriend wants to do it?

Melis & Recep: 

Recep: It is a sacrifice, after all. People make sacrifices for those they love.

Melis: Of course, you’re not going to always do what you want.

Recep: Exactly! If someone has to do it for the person they love so they can be happy, he must make a sacrifice for their happiness.

Melis: and you will also be happy at the end of the day.

Recep: Of course, at the end of the day. You start with that perspective at first, but then at the end of the day , as you said, you are happy too and we got the green (he meant money),

Interviewer: Would you stay in a relationship with someone who doesn't tell their friends about you?

Recep & Melis: 

Recep: So, I abruptly put it down but actually, I was going to say “No” but then I saw the “Yes” sign and heard “3, 2, 1”, I got nervous.

Melis: But this sounds like a question that can be discussed and debated.

Recep: Yes, definitely

Melis: Does it matter why they didn't tell their friends? What are their friends like?

Recep: What if there is a valid reason? Then my answer would be “Yes”. If there is no valid reason, let’s take the question again, my answer would be “No”.

Interviewer: Would you date someone who just got out of a long relationship?

Recep & Melis:

Melis: Because there are a couple of things you need to take into account here: What's the situation like with his ex, what is he like as a person, why did he break up with his ex? You know, maybe in his mind, it's a relationship that he was done with for a year already, so maybe…. 

Recep: No you’re right. Short or long relationship, it doesn’t matter. If you can get along, if you love that person. Are you going to say this to the person you meet: “Hello, if you got out of a long relationship, let's part ways or not start at all?” You don't even need to question this.

Interviewer: Your high school crush from 5 years ago wanted to meet but you have a girlfriend/boyfriend, would you still meet up with them?

Recep & Melis:

Melis: I knew this would happen

Recep: Of course, you knew this would happen. Could such a thing happen? 5 years? How many years?

Interviewer: 5 years ago. Think about it this way: highschool is over and 5 years have passed by.

Recep: Of course, I won’t meet up with them.

Melis: Oh, but now they will meet up like old friends, because you had these feelings during high school, and now you don’t have any feelings left for them anymore.

Recep: If we’re friends, then I'll meet up with them, if it's someone I love and can get along with. And what kind of love is this? Was it a one-sided love or a mutual one?

Interviewer: You were madly in love 5 years ago.

Recep: So it was one-sided. Then, no, I wouldn’t meet up with them.

Interviewer: If your girlfriend/boyfriend cries in every argument, would you accuse them of manipulation?

Recep& Melis:

Recep: How??

Melis: It can’t be manipulation every time they cry. You don't know.

Recep: But I understood the question as in every discussion, and I may not accuse them of manipulation in every argument, but they can choose crying as a way to avoid the discussion, I don't know.

Melis: Of course, if they are doing it for that reason, then of course you can accuse them of manipulation.

Recep: You already know how to talk with an emotional person. If they tend to cry all the time, then you do your best not to make them cry, but if they cry despite all of that, I would ask them if they have a problem with me.

Melis: But them crying is not manipulation. They are just crying.

Interviewer: but they always cry during fights/discussions

Recep: That’s too much. Look, For example, we have been in a relationship for a long time, we know each other. She is a very emotional person and cries all the time. That's why you argue to the extent that it doesn't make her cry.

Melis: But then that's your thing.

Melis: No

Melis: ah all the time?

Recep: Let's be honest about this,  we will ask them. But you will also be happy if your partner is constantly smiling. It means that something is making them happy and I think you want them to be happy.

Melis: isn’t he the man of your dreams? Did you hear his answer?

Recep: No, I'm totally focused on the light right now.(I think they have a light in front of them that tells them whether they won that round or not, that’s what he meant, it lights up green if they give the same answer)

Melis: It also depends on who you are now. I've always been with people whom I probably trust, So I'm sure, I won’t get suspicious.

Interviewer: Melis, what’s your zodiac sign?

Melis: Leo

Interviewer: I thought maybe you were a Gemini

Melis: No, I am not

Interviewer: When everything is going well with your partner, they have to move out of the city for work. Will you end your relationship?

Melis & Recep:

Recep: You don't end the relationship. The conditions just got tougher. You discuss how you can make it easy for both of you and you find a good way out. There has to be a way around this. Also, they are going because of their job, after all. They are not going because they want to.

Interviewer: Will you go with them?

Recep: What if I have to stay here because of my job, of course I will not go with them. But we'll talk about it. We'll find a solution together.

Melis: I wouldn’t go with them. I would visit as often as I could. He would most likely do the same.

Melis: I don’t know. I forgot what I was going to say Reco.

Melis & Recep:

Recep: Thank you (because she gave them points even though Melis wasn’t sure about her answer lol and Recep was so done with her here)

Melis: How is it possible that you can't get along when you’re living in the same house?

Recep: You propose living separately first, which can be a very hard question to ask. It can be a proposition to the other person and because of that you will break up. You will break up after asking this question anyway.

Melis: Have you heard of something like this? You know, we can live together and continue our relationship but then let’s live separately. It sounds to me like that won’t work, I don’t know.

Recep: In the end, It's like getting married and then getting divorced.
