HE REALLY SHOULDN’T TALK TO her, or even acknowledge her existence. his dad would probably give him some drawn out lecture about loyalty, honor, or whatever moral compass salvatore abbott was leading with for the day. but wil had seen her three times now at the outskirts and he was more confused by her presence than anything. maribel’s death shook most of the town, but if angel was still the same girl from back when they were kids, he knew that she’d be taking it hard. the crowds are filtering out now, wil clearing his throat to greet her. “ hey.. ” if he could, he’d kick himself for such a casual greeting, “ crazy, isn’t it ?? even with.. the news, so many people still decided to show up. ”

“ I HAVE NEWS, ANGIE !! ” agnes calls out to her friend from the back room before practically bursting in, placing books onto the front counter. she should be working on restocking shelves, but alas— “ t-minus ten days until we enter sagittarius season. do you know what that means ?? ”  she plucks the pink highlighter from behind her ear, not waiting for an answer, “ nothing but fun and lively energy for us !! prepare to be adventurous. ” she announces dramatically, plopping onto her stool behind the counter. 

FINGERS PLUCK AT STRINGS absently, twisting the tuning knobs of his guitar. the who is playing on the nearby stereo of the record shop and has been for most of the day, and red is far too lazy to get up and switch to a different genre. the bell jingles, and for a moment, he believes he’s saved from boredom, though the sight of one red-haired girl makes him groan. red puts his guitar down, leaning it against the countertop beside him. “ here we go, ” red sighs dramatically, stretching his arms as if he’s bracing himself for the impending conversation. “ four hours of my life i’m never gonna get back. it’s fine, i’m not bitter. what can i help you with, angel ?? ”

“you okay?” naomi asks, turning around to face angel, gaze sweeping over her to check for any injuries. her voice is much softer now than it had been just a mere second ago, a softness that is reserved for the few people that she considers hers. “sorry if i overstepped,” she says, not wanting angel to think that she didn’t think angel could take care of it on her own. “but, well... you know how i get when it comes to you. i can’t help it.” her tone goes up slightly towards the end, part sheepish part whine, and she offers angel her best ‘i did nothing wrong, you know you love me’ smile.
