I painted my first mini! I had been putting it off for so long because i was worried about not having enough talent to do small details. But after researching and mainly watching this YouTube tutorial I really wanted to try. So I went to my local shops Dragon's Lair and Rogue's Gallery, got a few Citadel paints and a Bones mini, then went to Wal-Mart and got some Apple Barrel craft paints and some Folk Art brushes. 2 hours of patience and Critical Role in the background is all it took to make this little lady.
The point of this post is 2 sided.
1) I want to show off. I worked hard and although its not one of my personal characters, I did that. And I'm proud. And I'm gonna put her in my display case (currently with my husbands unpainted Warhammar models, Lego sets, and Star Wars collectables) and show her to everyone on our next game day.
2) I want to show that you CAN do stuff your not sure you can. I wont preach "you dont know til you try" because i know thats annoying and SOMETIMES you just KNOW if you're capable of something. But if youre not sure, or if youve just been putting something off cause you dont think you'll make it perfect? Just do it. Draw that picture, sing that song, run that marathon, PAINT THAT MINI.
I know shes not perfect, im looking at her now and can see at least 3 places I want to go back and fix. But I LOVED every minute of this. And i can't wait to do another!
Anyway. Heres the stuff I used.
Please ask me questions! Or if you just need encouragment ill be happy to provide!
