3 Card Situation, Action, Outcome Spread
Who doesn’t love a quick and easy 3 card spread? This one is a favourite of mine for helping people find their feet in the middle of a confusing or unclear situation.Â
'I recently applied to re-register on my university course, having had to withdraw last year for personal reasons. The process seems to be taking a while and I'm worried I'm going to miss the enrollment deadline if my forms aren't processed in time. I've already bought the books on my reading list and I know I should get ahead with my reading, but not knowing if I'm even going to make it on the course is stressing me out and putting me off.'
What a wonderfully encouraging line-up of cards! The first thing I’m drawn to is the carefree nature of The Fool and the two cards from the suit of Pentacles indicating study and the development of knowledge and ideas.Â
1) Situation now ~ The Fool
The Fool captures your eagerness to return to study and begin a new learning journey, as well as not knowing if your plans will unfold the way you’d like them to. While you might feel anxious in having to wait for answers, The Fool indicates taking a chance on the unknown and trusting that things will unfold as they should. Â
2) Advice ~ The Page of Pentacles Â
Looks like it’s time to make a start on that reading list! The Page of Pentacles encourages a studious approach, for the joy of learning itself and in order to feel prepared and informed.Â
The subject you’re studying is something you find engaging and interesting, and you enjoy learning for its own sake as much as to gain a qualification. Try to embrace that whenever you begin to feel worried or uncertain.Â
Engaging with new texts and materials gives you something positive to focus on while waiting, and if you are able to register on your course you’ll feel focused and ready to dive right in from the get-go.Â
3) Outcome ~ 3 of Pentacles
Another card from the suit of Pentacles, indicating study and learning, often with others as part of a team or institution. Read in conjunction with each other, the cards indicate that a return to study is highly likely, and the 3 of Pentacles marks the development of ideas and learning, all of which occur within a university setting.Â
Making a gentle start on your reading list will help you feel prepared, giving you something interesting to focus on while waiting and providing a solid base for learning should you return to university.Â
The person in question did indeed register for her course on time, and felt prepared, focused and excited about the year ahead having made a start on her reading list prior to enrollment.Â
Got to love that Pentacles energy!
