To be honest, I don’t know what else to say. I’m still trying to let everything sink in, and it’s hard to put things into words. The idea of there being a ladder of power between the entities in Nevada is fascinating, and I’m going to try to explain how it all works. This way, I can explain the new entities and their standing on their control over Nevada. So without further ado, a list of each entity, or entities, in order of most powerful to acknowledgable.
The Maker: As the name states, this being is the one to create everything to exist within Nevada. They're described as the highest power, and their appearance is unlike any Nevadean we've seen thus far; I have a theory that the person they appear as when we meet them is only a form they use when others need to be able to comprehend them - like Employers, who only appear the way they do because our minds just can't wrap themselves around their true forms. The Maker has the ability to create and destroy anything it likes, and everything is merely pawns in its chesssboard of possibilities.
The Machine: Sibling to the Maker, this entity is what makes Nevada tick. It watches over all, deems when something isn't right and should be dealt with, and keeps Nevada under a steady feeling of control. If it were to one day decide that it is unhappy with Nevada's current state, it has all power to be able to destroy everything within its sight in order to begin again anew. Think of it as a soft reset of the world, where you aren't shutting down the system, but instead resetting to your last save. In this case, the last save would be back at the beginning of when Nevada first begun. This doomsday is described as the Mandatus, which is not a thing but an event, often depicted as the "hand of the Machine".
Higher Powers: We were already made aware of these beings' existence in the main series, though what they really are is still unknown. A court of the Maker, perhaps, deciding what should fall under judgment. Like the Maker, they have the ability to be able to destroy at will, but they cannot create. What they say goes, but no one knows what they want.
The Employers: Our favorite little eldritch beings of Nevada's inner workings, these "creatures" keep an iron fist of control over Nevada where their higher ups cannot personally deal with. We know that the Auditor is one, and that there are six more. With there being seven, at least that we know of, there's a possibility they could represent the seven deadly sins, but that's still a bit of a stretch. The Employers do what their name suggests - employ. They get others to do their dirty work, only stepping in to deal with things themselves if they get out of hand. As I mentioned before, they appear as whispy, shadowy beings because our minds wouldn't be able to comprehend their true form.
The Firsts: There isn't an actual name for them yet, but it is now known that among the many Nevadeans that wander the earth, the first beings to walk it are unlike any other. It's made clear that Phobos is one of them, which may imply that they are equipped with many powerful abilities that make them appear as gods. Most are gone, but some still remain to this day, though it's unknown who or where they are.
