You have got to be kidding me? King George the third, has issued the Royal Proclamation of 1763 that by law it is illegal for all colonists to migrate west of the Appalachian Mts.Â
How did this come to be you ask? Pontiac's Rebellion, that's how. Indians were mad because we decided to settle on our new land, that we the colonists deserved after the British put us through that stupid war with the French. In the proclamation, King George the third states "that the several Nations or Tribes of Indians with whom we are connected, and who live under our protections, should not be molested or disturbed in the possession of such parts of our Dominions and territories as, not having been ceded to or purchased by us, are reserved to them". Excuse me sir, what about the Treaty of Paris? Remember that document? The document stating that all land until the Mississippi is ours? Now, a few indians are scaring away the all powerful British. Come on Great Britain.Â
From what I hear, British soldiers are attacking colonists who have already settled past the mountains. This has to be a joke. First, you give us land then take it away, and now are attacking those have built a life over there.Â
Colonists out there, agree with me on the idea that this document is doing nothing, but making us mad. I thought we made peace with the Indians during the war? What happened to that Great Britain? Do not punish the colonists because the Indians decided to not follow our peace treaty.Â
Get it together Britain, this document is only making us angry and might lead to something big.Â
