Mutual admiration society
So...since I know TWO people are having a good day today, I though I would share:
Please read I Don’t Want a Lot for Solstice by aerialiste over on Ao3:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/283122
Yeah, I know it is out of season, but it doesn’t matter - it is HIGHlarious and will completely brighten your day. Technically smutty Destiel, but *everyone* in the story is treated well and thoughtfully (happy witch!Sam). Even the squirrels.
As for the pair of us having a good day, I share with you this comment exchange over on Ao3:
aerialiste: “... I actually feel really insecure about this fic because I...am not a great or even very good fiction writer at the best of times, but I was really still learning at this point and there's a lot in here that just makes me wince/cringe. ...”
djtmusings: “How do you define a *good* fiction writer? I read the Galveston series before this one, and marveled at the flow of your words and the imagery you paint. The tone in that piece was both haunting and romantic, heartbreaking and heartwarming-just amazingly lovely.
This piece, while completely different, has those same features-an amazing ability to paint word pictures and to convey a welter of feelings. An inexplicable undertow of inevitable romance (and lust), in the midst of deep friendship and slapstick comedy.
Good writers make you *feel*. They suck you into a story and yank on your emotions. Good writers make you think and question. Good writers make you laugh out loud (^^^^) and cry in anguish or in happiness (Galveston).
I read your stories. I cried and I laughed, and my heart-my soul-was lighter for it.
Please keep writing. Your writing is totally worth your effort. I look forward to it. Absolutely.“
aerialiste: I got too embarrassed to reply but just so you know I saved this and look at it on bad days. You are the best reader EVER and I hope you're having a fabulous day/month/year/life—
djtmusings: Well, it's certainly improved NOW.
