“ IF YOU TWO DON’T MAKE ROOM, I’M SITTING OVER THERE AND TAKING THE POPCORN TO MYSELF. ”  It’s an empty threat, honestly; it’s rare they get much of a minute to themselves anyway —— and it’s given with a tip of a smile that has just a little bit of fond exasperation on the upturn on one corner. 

“I don’t know, not sleeping seems to be helping.”

[Nightmare starters]

Placid disbelief settles upon the thunderer’s face. He dislikes the feeling: it makes him feel condescending; playing a role he, himself, often opposes when his own stubborn temper flares. He is prepared to weather it for Anthony’s sake, however. The man is not by all accounts thinking clearly.

He cannot yet tell exactly what it is that plagues the mortal. There is too much they both have seen, a litany of nightmareish scenarios enough to keep sleep from the hardiest of minds. It could be any number of possibilities and yet Thor remains determined to tease out whichever it is and aim to assist. By this stage he rather fears it is all he can do, short of knocking the man out.

That in itself is not an option he’s keen to pursue.

BLAME THE TEASING last night that didn’t go anywhere; blame the fact that they’ve been apart for a couple weeks on business. Whatever the case? He wakes up from a bewilderingly erotic series of dreams that leave him harder’n hell and pressed up against Tony’s hip as that dream’s torn away from him at just the wrong moment, and leaves him shaking off sleep and aching so hard it hurts.

Takes him a sec to wake up enough to realize and groan a sound of mixed frustration and embarrassed awareness into Tony’s shoulder. And to top it all off? Tony’s awake, so it's not like he can pretend this never happened.

“Fuck. I missed this.” A Day Tony | @reactoric​​ : some meme somewhere

IT’S HARD TO SAY HE MISSED SOMETHING when to him it’s only been —— hell, A-Day feels like YESTERDAY, almost. A bit of an exaggeration, maybe, but last five years have just —— gone by in a dreamless, cold sleep.

He gets the sentiment, though. Feels it, somewhere deep in his bones. Sees it in the way all of them look at him like he’s a ghost that’s come back to haunt from beyond the grave.

They’re tangled here in the bed, a narrow thing aboard the helicarrier that’s scarcely big enough for one, much less two —— but it’s fine. They don’t need a lot of room when he’s pushed up against him like this, spooning him from behind while an arm is curled tight ‘round his chest, the other hand looped under a thigh to hold him open ——he’s buried as deep as he can get, groaning low into the back of Tony’s shoulder at those words.

Not all their times together have been as indulgently slow as this, but this? This kind’ve calls for it. A slow and steady grind of the hips, freedom to let his hands slide over skin and touch freely, palming over Tony’s arousal here and there to give him a few strokes between it all.

HE’S IN THE MIDDLE OF BUTTONING UP HIS SHIRT —— and he gives a little laugh, tossing a look back over his shoulder to Tony. “ You know what they always say. Absence makes the heart go fonder, and all that. “

He finishes buttoning the last button, gives a quick look in the mirror and slips fingers back through his hair — it’s still a little messy, a little out of place, but it’ll do fine for now. Not like he has many other options; he got a notice this morning he was due for a meeting in less than an HOUR.

@reactoric​ | kissin’ day :   coming at him from behind, tony leans around his shoulder and brushes his lips against steve's cheek. there's some mumble about his watch telling him it was kissing day. oh look! there's an invisible stain on his tie that he now is preoccupied with picking at!

As a weight leans ‘round his shoulder and presses a kiss against his cheek, he quirks a little grin and casts a glance back towards Tony just in time to see his eyes shift down to studiously inspect an invisible speck upon his tie.
