What is Reaction Diffusion?
Reaction–diffusion systems are mathematical models which correspond to several physical phenomena: the most common is the change in space and time of the concentration of one or more chemical substances: local chemical reactions in which the substances are transformed into each other, and diffusion which causes the substances to spread out over a surface in space.
Reaction–diffusion systems are naturally applied in chemistry. However, the system can also describe dynamical processes of non-chemical nature. Examples are found in biology, geology and physics (neutron diffusion theory) and ecology. Mathematically, reaction–diffusion systems take the form of semi-linear parabolic partial differential equations.
In recent times, reaction–diffusion systems have attracted much interest as a prototype model for pattern formation. It has also been argued that reaction-diffusion processes are an essential basis for processes connected to morphogenesis in biology and may even be related to animal coats and skin pigmentation.
Other applications of reaction-diffusion equations include ecological invasions, spread of epidemics, tumour growth and wound healing. Another reason for the interest in reaction-diffusion systems is that although they are nonlinear partial differential equations, there are often possibilities for an analytical treatment.

For this set, we explored morphogenesis of animals, specifically we researched the tiger tree frog...and aimed to simulate our own growth. We did this by manipulating the Reaction Diffusion ( gray scott ) formula generated in Ready' using javascript. We then converted our flat growth into vector form to relay onto a variety of pieces.
