Rewrites, Casting Changes And Delays For Star Wars: Episode Eight?
Rumors and whispers have descended into the Star Wars news realm in the last few weeks like the freezing cold outside my window. Between Star Wars: Rogue One and now Star Wars: Episode Eight. We are entering in the two different stages that deliver when it comes to spoilers and information about the production. With Rogue One looking to end principle photography, Actors and extraâs will begin to update their resumes and CVâs and post them on online databases for the world to see. That usually gives up some character names if we are lucky. In the other hand we have Star Wars: Episode Eight which is just about to start principle photography which involved rewrites and cast changes.
Todayâs news about Star Wars: Episode Eight comes from Jeff Sneider from the Wrap.com. Jeff was speaking on the popular Meet The Movie Press on Pop Corn Time (23:00 minutes in) when he dropped the scoop that Actress Bel Powley did in fact lose her role for the film and was replaced by an Asian Actress. Jeff continued that production has been delayed for a re-write of the script which will focus on our main character more and less on the newer roles. Hence why Bel Powley was not needed or perhaps that she turned down the role.
I hate to call this a delay of production because changing the script and cast members is part and parcel of making movies. The movie is still on schedule for itâs release and given that it has not shown up anywhere else in the Trades, looks as this really isnât a big deal at all. But as always we try to bring you guys what is floating around and try to give you our best take on it.
