Reaper 101 Part 6:- Routing
Following recent adventures in re-amping, a key point to learn to be able to re-amp is how to setup routing in Reaper (or your DAW of choice).
One thing about Reaper that always seems to hold up is that when I'm looking for a feature, that feature is almost always where it should be after I learn about it. The routing setup is like that as well; it's the triple-slash icon in the channel mixing setup.
On the Focusrite that I have, the only way I can re-amp is to send audio to one of the monitor outputs, wire that output to the re-amp, re-amp to pedal chain, and pedal chain into one of the non-mic input channels (line-in). From the Scarlett MixControl panel, ensure that DAW 1 / DAW 2 are pointed appropriately to Monitor 1 / Monitor 2 as needed.
