Laughing wasnāt common in the royal palace of the Firenation.Ā
Bickering yes - but laughing? A young boy yelling at his sister tellingĀ
her to stop. A young girl laughing at the words her brother spoke. SheĀ
didnāt care and she probably would NEVER stop getting her older brother
into trouble for the things SHE did.Ā
Today was such a day that Zuko wished his sister was NEVER born.Ā
She was burning the flowers ( their mothers flowers ) in the garden andĀ
Zuko was trying to pull her hands away, tried her to stop but she justĀ
pushed him into the dirt and laughed at him yet again before she walkedĀ
away like nothing has happened.Ā
Now the young prince sat there. Pale hands flat on the dirty ground whileĀ
he could feel the anger within him. His mother wasnāt there to protect him
at this moment - and when his father would have been there he would have
told him to let Azula do whatever she pleased to do.Ā āThis is UNFAIR!ā
the youngĀ boy spoke to himself before he finally got up from the ground.
Trying to swatĀ away the dirt from his clothing he looked around for a moment
and catched aĀ glimpse of a girl standing nearby.Ā
His mother stood in front of her and a guard next to her. Like she had justĀ
arrived here. Slowly Zuko walked closer. He stopped when he was behind aĀ
tree. Peeking over to his mother, the little girl and the guard he could hear the
voice of his mother. As always it was so soft, warm and welcoming while she
leaned down to look at the girl with a smile on her lips. Zuko could SEE thatĀ
the girl didnāt belong here. He could see her blue eyes, her tanned skin - noĀ
she wasnāt from the Firenation.Ā
The young prince was quiet while he kept watching the scenery. He watchedĀ
his mother placing a hand on the girls shoulder, and watched when the guard
left. At that moment Zuko just wanted to turn and leave as well but he already
felt the look of his mother on him and he widened his eyes for a moment before
he hid behind the tree. She would want him to introduce himself, would
want him to show some MANNERS towards a guest.Ā
And he was right. Just a few moments after he was behind the tree he couldĀ
hear his mother approach and before he could run away she was in front ofĀ
him.Ā āWe have a guest Zuko - be nice to her. She...- has gone through a lot.Ā
Your father wonāt approve of her presence, and so you have to be nice to her,
show her that she is WELCOME here with usā she spoke and Zuko frowned,
head turning to look at the girl that still stood where she was the whole time.Ā
āYes mother -ā he then just said. Ursa, with a gentle smile, placed her hand on
his cheek for a moment before she walked away.Ā
For a few more minutes Zuko kept standing behind that tree before he turned and
peeked at the girl again.Ā āHey -- you, what is your name?ā he asked, still
behind the tree, just his head and one hand visible.Ā āWhere are you from?āĀ
