One Night Only
One Night Only
The Kia Forum looked empty, or at least that’s what the glowing sign outside said.
Inside, it was anything but quiet.
Music thundered through the arena as dancers hurried across the stage, lighting technicians shouted cues, and four microphones waited beneath the enormous silver letters suspended over the entrance ramp.
B2K: ONE NIGHT ONLY
Twenty-five years of music.
Twenty-five years of memories.
And, unfortunately, twenty-five years of unresolved drama: creative arguments, personal fallouts, and public headlines that still lingered in the minds of fans.
"Stop the music!"
Omarion's voice echoed throughout the arena. The track cut off halfway through the chorus of "Bump, Bump, Bump," leaving Raz-B frozen in the middle of a dance step.
Raz slowly lowered his arms.
"What now?"
“You’re early again,” Omarion answered from the center of the stage.
“Or maybe y’all late.”
Fizz sighed and sat on the edge of the stage. “We have been rehearsing this same eight-count for forty-five minutes.”
J-Boog folded his arms. “Because somebody keeps turning it into a twelve-count.”
Raz pointed at Omarion. “Tell Mr. Meditation to stop changing the choreography every five minutes.”
“I’m refining it.”
“You’re irritating it.”
From the front row, Sharmela pressed her lips together, trying not to laugh.
Raz immediately noticed.
“See?” he called, pointing toward her. “My woman knows I’m right.”
Sharmela shook her head. “Your woman didn’t say a word.”
“You didn’t have to. I felt your support.”
“No, you felt me trying not to embarrass you.”
J-Boog burst out laughing. Fizz dropped his head, and even Omarion’s serious expression cracked.
Raz placed a hand over his heart. “Baby, you came all the way out here just to attack me?”
“I came to make sure you didn’t attack Omarion.”
“That too,” Omarion muttered.
Before Raz could respond, the arena doors opened, and three women walked through them carrying bags, drinks, and enough food to feed the entire production crew.
Renna led the way, looking calm and effortlessly beautiful in jeans, a fitted B2K reunion shirt, and a long cardigan. Beside her, Aisha carried two drink trays while Chelsea struggled with several large takeout bags.
J-Boog spotted Chelsea and immediately jumped off the stage.
“Hold on, baby. Why are you carrying all that?”
“Because somebody promised he would meet us at the door.”
J-Boog took the bags and kissed her cheek. “I got distracted.”
“You were dancing.”
“That’s the distraction.”
Chelsea gave him a look. “You’ve been dancing for twenty-five years. It shouldn’t still surprise you.”
Fizz hurried down to help Aisha with the drinks.
“Is one of these mine?”
Aisha pulled the tray away. “Did you eat the breakfast I made you?”
Fizz hesitated.
“Fizz.”
“I had half a banana.”
“You are a grown man rehearsing for a two-hour concert on half a banana?”
“It was a large banana.”
Aisha stared at him.
Fizz quietly took the food bag from her instead.
Meanwhile, Omarion remained onstage, watching Renna approach. The frustration that had tightened his face vanished the second she smiled at him.
She stopped below the stage and lifted one eyebrow.
“Are you going to come down here, or should I climb up there?”
Omarion jumped down and wrapped his arms around her waist.
“I missed you.”
Renna laughed. “I left the hotel two hours ago.”
“Long two hours.”
He kissed her slowly enough for J-Boog to groan.
“Can we please eat before y’all start making reunion babies?”
Chelsea slapped J-Boog’s arm.
“What?” he asked innocently. “I’m thinking about everybody’s schedule.”
“You need to think about carrying those bags.”
Sharmela joined the other women near the stage as the men gathered around the food. Watching all four members of B2K together felt surreal. Their music had been the soundtrack to countless school dances, bedroom concerts, and whispered conversations with friends.
Now the posters were gone. Rehearsal clothes had replaced the glittering outfits. They were no longer teenagers trying to survive sudden fame.
They were grown men trying to repair what fame had broken. Sometimes that meant having uncomfortable, honest conversations none of them would have chosen years ago. Other times, it meant sitting together with a therapist, learning how to say things they used to hide in jokes or arguments. They were still figuring out what healing looked like, but every hard conversation and every shared truth was a step forward.
And the women beside them understood that this reunion was about far more than performing old songs.
It was about finding out whether four men with complicated histories could become brothers again.
The Women Behind the Reunion
The couples had arrived in Los Angeles three weeks earlier.
At first, everything had been exciting.
Fans gathered outside the rehearsal studio. In the early mornings, clusters of people wearing faded tour shirts and clutching homemade posters waited behind barricades, talking about what the band’s music had meant to them. One girl pressed her hand to the glass and called out, "You have no idea how much we needed this!" Old songs started trending again. Interview requests flooded in, and every major entertainment outlet wanted exclusive footage of the reunion.
Then the pressure settled over them.
Omarion became obsessed with perfecting every detail. Fizz grew anxious whenever interviewers brought up past disagreements. J-Boog tried keeping everyone laughing, even when he was exhausted. Raz acted as though nothing bothered him, which meant nearly everything bothered him.
Their relationships felt the strain too.
Renna barely saw Omarion outside rehearsal. Aisha had to keep reminding Fizz that he didn’t need to defend every mistake he had ever made. Chelsea watched J-Boog carry everyone else’s emotions while refusing to discuss his own.
And Sharmela knew Raz was terrified.
He would never admit it.
But she saw it in the way he paced their hotel suite at night. She heard it when he practiced answers to interview questions under his breath. She felt it every time he reached for her hand before entering a crowded room.
The reunion mattered deeply to him.
Perhaps too deeply.
That afternoon, everyone gathered backstage for lunch. Their dressing rooms had been decorated with framed photographs from B2K’s early years.
Fizz picked up one of them.
The boys in the picture looked impossibly young. Omarion stood in the center, Raz leaned toward him, and J-Boog and Fizz threw matching poses on either side.
“We really thought we were doing something with these outfits,” Fizz said.
Aisha looked over his shoulder. “Why are your pants that shiny?”
“It was the early 2000s.”
“That isn’t an explanation.”
“It explains everything,” Chelsea said.
J-Boog pointed to his younger self. “I still look good.”
Chelsea tilted her head. “You look like a Hershey’s Kiss wearing sunglasses.”
The room exploded with laughter.
Even Omarion doubled over.
J-Boog stared at his girlfriend in betrayal. “That’s crazy. I carried your bags.”
“And I appreciate you, Chocolate Drop.”
Raz nearly fell out of his chair.
Sharmela smiled as he leaned against her, laughing so hard his shoulders shook. For one precious moment, they weren’t four men attempting to revive a legendary group.
They were simply friends teasing one another over lunch.
Then Omarion’s phone rang.
He stepped away to answer it, and when he returned, the lightness had disappeared from his face.
“That was management,” he said. “Tomorrow’s press conference got moved to tonight.”
Fizz’s smile faded. “Tonight?”
“At seven.”
“We’re not ready,” Raz said.
“It’s a press conference,” Omarion replied. “We answer questions.”
“Yeah, until they start asking questions that ain’t got nothing to do with the show.”
“They’re going to ask about the past,” Fizz said quietly.
J-Boog leaned back in his chair. “We knew they would.”
“That doesn’t mean we have to like it.”
Omarion looked between them. “We stay focused. We say we’ve grown, we’re here for the fans, and we’re moving forward.”
Raz shook his head. “That scripted answer isn’t going to work forever.”
“It only has to work until the concert.”
The room fell silent.
Sharmela looked at Renna. Renna’s expression told her everything.
Omarion didn’t mean the words the way they sounded, but it was already too late.
Fizz stood. “So that’s all this is? We pretend to like each other until the check clears?”
“I didn’t say that.”
“You basically did,” Raz said.
Omarion exhaled sharply. “This is exactly why I didn’t want to have this conversation right now.”
“Because you want to control everything,” Raz replied.
“Because I want the reunion to succeed!”
“And you think the only way it can succeed is if everybody follows your orders?”
“I think somebody has to lead.”
Raz stepped forward. “You've been holding that over our heads since we were teenagers.”
Omarion’s jaw tightened. “And you’ve been blaming everybody else for everything since we were teenagers.”
“Stop.”
Sharmela’s voice cut through the room.
Raz looked at her. “Mela—”
“No. I have watched you lose sleep over this reunion for three weeks. I’ve watched all four of you work until your bodies hurt. Now you’re going to destroy everything because none of you know how to say you’re scared?”
No one spoke.
Sharmela stood beside Raz, but she looked at all four men.
“You’re scared the fans won’t care anymore. You’re scared the media will turn the reunion into another circus. You’re scared you’ll trust one another and get hurt again. That’s what this argument is about.”
Renna joined her.
“She’s right,” she said gently. “Omarion, you’ve been trying to control every second because you’re afraid that if something goes wrong, everyone will blame you.”
Omarion lowered his eyes.
Aisha moved beside Fizz.
“And you’ve been rehearsing answers to questions nobody has asked yet,” she told him. “You’re preparing to defend yourself instead of letting people see who you are now.”
Fizz rubbed his jaw.
Chelsea looked at J-Boog.
“And Mr. Comedy Central over here thinks making everyone laugh means he never has to tell anyone when he’s struggling.”
J-Boog opened his mouth.
Chelsea raised a finger. “Don’t make a joke.”
He closed it.
Raz glanced at Sharmela. “You got something special for me too?”
“Oh, absolutely.”
“Of course you do.”
She faced him fully.
“You act tough because you think admitting this matters gives people the power to hurt you. You don’t want anyone to know how badly you want your brothers back.”
The defensive look on Raz’s face disappeared.
The room became painfully quiet.
Sharmela reached for his hand.
“You don’t have to pretend with me,” she whispered.
Raz squeezed her fingers but looked toward the others.
“I do want my brothers back,” he admitted. “I just don’t know if they want me.”
Fizz looked up first. “Man, you’re annoying, dramatic, and you still can’t hit the last move on time.”
Raz frowned. “This is supposed to make me feel better?”
“But you’re my brother.”
J-Boog stepped forward. “Mine too.”
Everyone looked at Omarion.
He stood apart from them, fighting against years of pride and disappointment. Renna approached him and rested her hand against his back.
“You don’t have to fix everything tonight,” she said. “Just tell the truth.”
Omarion looked at Raz.
“I should’ve listened to you more back then,” he said. “There were times you were hurting, and I was too focused on keeping everything moving to notice.”
Raz swallowed hard.
“I said things about you I shouldn’t have said.”
“We all did,” Fizz admitted.
“We were kids,” J-Boog added. “Kids surrounded by adults who profited when we fought.”
Omarion nodded. “But we aren’t kids anymore.”
Raz released Sharmela’s hand and stepped toward him.
For a moment, they merely stared at each other.
Then Raz held out his hand.
Omarion ignored it and pulled him into a hug.
Fizz immediately joined them. J-Boog wrapped his arms around all three, nearly knocking them over.
“Why are y’all crushing me?” Raz complained from the middle.
“You wanted your brothers back,” J-Boog said. “You didn’t specify how close.”
The women smiled at one another.
It wasn’t a perfect reconciliation. One conversation couldn’t heal decades of pain. But for the first time in years, there was hope that things could truly change. But it was a beginning.
Facing the Questions
The press conference was packed.
Camera flashes filled the ballroom as B2K entered with their partners. The men sat behind a long table while Sharmela, Renna, Aisha, and Chelsea watched from the side of the room.
At first, the questions were easy.
Why reunite now?
Would there be new music?
How difficult was it learning the old choreography again?
J-Boog answered that one.
“My knees have filed a formal complaint.”
The room laughed.
Then a reporter near the front stood.
“What would you say to fans who believe this reunion is only about money?”
The atmosphere shifted.
Omarion reached for his microphone, but Raz spoke first.
“I’d say I understand why they might think that.”
Omarion glanced at him but didn’t interrupt.
Raz continued. “People have seen us break apart more than once. They’ve heard a lot of stories. Some true, some exaggerated, and some completely made up. But we wouldn’t put ourselves through this if it didn’t mean something.”
Fizz leaned toward his microphone.
“We’ve made mistakes. All of us. The reunion doesn’t erase them.”
“It gives us the chance to do better,” J-Boog said.
Omarion nodded.
“We’re not promising perfection,” he added. “We’re promising honesty, respect, and one unforgettable show. And who knows—maybe this night will be just the start of something new.”
Another reporter raised her hand.
“What changed between you?”
The four men looked toward the women standing at the side of the room.
J-Boog smiled. “We got women who don’t let us get away with anything.”
Chelsea called back, “That’s right.”
Laughter moved through the ballroom.
Omarion looked at Renna. “We learned that protecting our pride was costing us people we loved.”
Fizz glanced toward Aisha. “And that apologizing doesn’t make you weak.”
Raz’s gaze met Sharmela’s.
“We learned that being afraid doesn’t mean you run,” he said. “Sometimes it means you finally have something worth staying for.”
Sharmela’s eyes filled with tears.
She quickly wiped beneath them and mouthed, You’re going to pay for ruining my makeup.
Raz grinned and mouthed back, Still beautiful.
One Night Only
The night of the concert arrived.
Every seat in the Forum was filled.
Fans wore vintage B2K shirts, waved homemade signs, and screamed along to music videos playing on the enormous screens. Some had been teenagers during the group’s original run. Others had discovered the music through older siblings—or social media clips posted years later.
Backstage, Omarion rolled his shoulders while Renna adjusted the silver chain around his neck.
“You nervous?” she asked.
“No.”
She stared at him.
“A little.”
“A little?”
He sighed. “I feel like my heart is trying to escape.”
Renna smiled and placed her palm against his chest.
“Let it beat. You don’t always have to be calm.”
Omarion covered her hand with his.
“What if something goes wrong?”
“Then you keep going. That’s what you’ve always done.”
He kissed her forehead.
“How do you always know what to say?”
“I don’t. I just say it confidently and hope you believe me.”
He laughed before kissing her.
Across the hallway, Aisha found Fizz sitting alone in his dressing room.
His stage outfit was on, his microphone pack secured, but he stared at the floor.
She sat beside him.
“Talk to me.”
“What if they boo?”
“They won’t.”
“But what if they do?”
“Then I’ll fight all twenty thousand of them.”
Fizz finally smiled. “You’re five-foot-four.”
“And?”
“That’s a lot of people.”
“I’ll start in the front row and work my way up.”
He laughed, then rested his head against hers.
“I don’t want tonight to be about everything I did wrong.”
Aisha took his face in her hands.
“Then don’t walk onto that stage as the man you used to be. Walk out there as the man sitting beside me—the one who is learning, growing, and taking responsibility for his choices.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too. Now get up before I have to drag you out there.”
In another dressing room, Chelsea caught J-Boog pacing.
“You’re going to wear a path in the floor.”
“I’m warming up.”
“You’re panicking.”
“I can do both.”
She moved in front of him and straightened his jacket.
“You know what I see when I look at you?”
“A handsome man with excellent bone structure?”
Chelsea smiled. “A man who has spent weeks making sure everyone else was okay.”
He became quiet.
“You don’t have to carry the whole group,” she said. “They’re beside you now.”
J-Boog slid his arms around her waist.
“What would I do without you?”
“Miss appointments, forget to eat, and wear that terrible brown hat.”
“That hat is fashionable.”
“That hat needs prayer.”
He laughed and kissed her.
Raz was the last to get ready.
Sharmela found him standing in the dark behind the curtain, listening to the crowd chant B2K’s name.
She approached quietly and slipped her hand into his.
He didn’t look at her.
“They remember us,” he whispered.
“Of course they do.”
“I thought they forgot.”
Sharmela rested her head against his shoulder.
“They didn’t forget you, Raz.”
He turned toward her.
“What if I mess up?”
“You probably will.”
His mouth dropped open. “That’s your pep talk?”
“You’ve been missing that same eight-count all week.”
“I thought you came back here to encourage me.”
“I did.” She wrapped her arms around his waist. “You might miss a step. You might forget a lyric. Your microphone might stop working. But none of that changes the fact that you deserve to be out there.”
Raz stared at her.
She touched his cheek.
“Don’t perform like you have something to prove. Go out there and enjoy the moment you thought you’d never get back.”
His eyes glistened.
“Mela…”
“And if you cry, please don’t use my shoulder. This outfit is satin.”
Raz laughed and pulled her against him.
“You always gotta ruin the moment.”
“I saved the moment.”
He kissed her deeply as the stage manager called the two-minute warning.
When they separated, Raz rested his forehead against hers.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
“One more kiss.”
“You have a concert.”
“Thirty seconds.”
“Raz.”
“Fifteen?”
She kissed him quickly.
“Now go.”
The lights went out.
Twenty thousand people screamed.
A video started playing on the screens, showing old rehearsal footage, music videos, red-carpet appearances, and home videos of four young boys laughing together before the world taught them to be guarded.
Then the silver letters illuminated.
B2K
Four platforms rose from beneath the stage.
Omarion appeared first.
Fizz rose beside him.
Then J-Boog.
Finally, Raz.
The opening beat dropped.
The arena erupted.
From the side of the stage, Sharmela, Renna, Aisha, and Chelsea watched their men step into a piece of history.
Omarion danced with the same smooth confidence that had made him a star, but now there was something freer in his smile. Renna sang every word, her eyes fixed on him.
Fizz performed with fire, and when he glanced toward Aisha, she pumped her fist and shouted, “That’s my man!”
Chelsea danced beside Sharmela, occasionally stopping to blow exaggerated kisses at J-Boog. Each time, he caught one and pressed it against his heart.
And Raz:
Raz didn’t miss the eight-count.
He hit every move.
When his solo began, the crowd chanted his name so loudly that he stopped singing. His face crumbled with emotion as he looked across the arena.
“Raz-B! Raz-B! Raz-B!”
Sharmela covered her mouth.
Raz turned toward the wings and found her.
She nodded, tears slipping down her cheeks.
They didn’t forget you.
Omarion stepped beside Raz and raised his arm. Fizz and J-Boog joined them.
The chant became louder.
Raz bowed his head as his brothers surrounded him.
For once, nobody rushed the moment.
After the Final Song
Two hours later, the concert ended beneath a storm of silver confetti.
The men stood together at the center of the stage, sweaty, exhausted, and overwhelmed.
Omarion raised his microphone.
“Before we go, we need to thank four people who made sure this reunion actually happened.”
Sharmela’s eyes widened.
“No,” she whispered.
Renna grabbed her wrist. “We’ve been set up.”
Omarion gestured toward the side of the stage.
“Renna, come here.”
Fizz called, “Aisha, don’t make me come get you.”
J-Boog grinned. “Chelsea, bring that fine self out here.”
Raz leaned toward his microphone.
“Sharmela, you got five seconds.”
She folded her arms.
Raz began counting. “Five…four…”
Sharmela hurried onto the stage while the audience laughed.
The four women joined their partners beneath the lights.
Omarion held Renna’s hand.
“This woman reminded me that leadership isn’t about control. It’s about trust.”
Renna kissed his cheek.
Fizz wrapped an arm around Aisha.
“Aisha loved me enough to hold me accountable and still remind me that I was worthy of another chance.”
Aisha leaned against him, her eyes shining.
J-Boog looked at Chelsea.
“Chelsea sees through every joke I tell.”
“Because most of them aren’t funny,” she said.
The crowd laughed.
J-Boog clutched his chest. “See what I deal with?”
Chelsea pulled him in for a kiss before he could say anything else.
Finally, Raz turned to Sharmela.
For once, he didn’t have a clever comment ready.
“This woman,” he said, his voice trembling, “loved me when I wasn’t sure how to love myself. She stood beside me when I wanted to run, and she reminded me that my story wasn’t over.”
Sharmela blinked back tears.
Raz reached into the pocket of his jacket.
Her eyes widened.
“Oh, you better not.”
The audience began screaming.
Raz laughed. “Why are you threatening me during my moment?”
“Because you did not warn me!”
“That would ruin the surprise.”
He lowered himself onto one knee.
The Forum exploded.
Sharmela stared down at him, shaking her head as tears streamed down her face.
Behind them, J-Boog’s mouth fell open.
Fizz slapped Omarion’s arm. “Did you know about this?”
Omarion smiled. “Of course.”
Renna whispered, “Liar. You found out twenty minutes ago.”
Raz opened a small velvet box.
Inside was an elegant diamond ring with a deep purple gemstone on either side.
“Sharmela, you taught me that a reunion isn’t about going backward. It’s about taking the broken pieces of your past and building something better.”
She pressed both hands against her heart.
“You’re my peace, my best friend, and the person I want beside me for every chapter that comes next.” He grinned through his tears. “Even when you make fun of my dancing.”
“You were early!”
The crowd laughed.
Raz shook his head. “Can I finish?”
“Go ahead.”
“Sharmela, will you marry me?”
She looked at the three couples standing behind them—Renna crying against Omarion’s shoulder, Aisha fanning her face. At the same time, Fizz smiled, and Chelsea was already recording everything on her phone as J-Boog shouted, “Say yes!”
Then Sharmela looked at Raz.
“Yes.”
Raz shot to his feet.
“Yes?” he repeated.
“Yes, fool!”
He lifted her into his arms and kissed her as the crowd roared.
Confetti cannons fired again, showering all eight of them in silver and purple.
“Hold up!” J-Boog shouted. “We just cleaned this stage!”
Chelsea laughed. “Nobody asked you to clean it.”
“I’m thinking about the crew!”
Fizz pulled Aisha closer. Omarion kissed Renna’s temple. Raz finally placed Sharmela back on her feet and slipped the ring onto her finger.
She held up her hand.
“You did good.”
“Just good?”
“It’s beautiful.”
“I picked the purple stones.”
“I know you did.”
“You doubted me.”
“I doubted your ability to keep a secret.”
“That’s fair.”
Omarion called everyone together for one final bow.
The four members of B2K stood at the center, their partners beside them. They joined hands as the audience gave them a standing ovation.
It had been advertised as one night only.
But as Raz looked at his brothers, Omarion smiled at Renna, Fizz leaned into Aisha, and J-Boog whispered something ridiculous into Chelsea's ear, all eight of them understood the truth.
This wasn't an ending.
It was the beginning of their next era.
No one could say exactly what the future would bring: new music, more shows, or entirely new dreams. But together, they walked into the unknown with open hearts and faith in one another. For the first time, both B2K and the people who loved them knew that whatever came next, this family was ready for it.
And this time, they wouldn't have to face it alone.

Hey!!
It's been 25 years since B2K first popped up on the music scene. I was 14 years old, a freshman in high school, when I fell in love with Raz-B, Omarion, J-Boog, and Lil'Fizz. Like every girl I knew, I had every poster and bought every magazine they were ever on. My mom thought I had lost my mind, but she never understood my love for B2K lol.
So on this blog, I will post memories of B2K and even write some fan-fiction stories, like I did when I was younger, but with a more adult twist.
So sit back and enjoy the madness of B2K. Also, feel free to leave comments on your favorite members and memories of the group.
Love, Sharmela
