(I thought today was Saturday so enjoy some random Sunday writing questions) Are you an overwriter or underwriter? Is there a drink/snack you always have while you write? Talk about a character you havenât gotten to talk about as much as you would like to?
Are you an overwriter or underwriter?
iâd say iâm an underwriter. every once in a while i have a lot to say in one go and iâll write a bunch, but that hardly ever happens. iâm also a really slow writer in general lol.
Is there a drink/snack you always have while you write?
it really just depends on what iâm craving at the time. a lot of times iâll be drinking some kind of soda, or eating whatever snack i have on hand at the time.
Talk about a character you havenât gotten to talk about as much as you would like to?
hmmmm. itâs either ray and/or scott. iâm still figuring stuff out, so these may or may not be spoiler-y:
- ray and scott met in elementary school when they were 8. this was a trying time for them bc ray was a child actor and scott had just lost most of his family +moved to the city. they were sort of like each otherâs rock.Â
- they go camping, birdwatching, and other nerdy stuff together.
- at some point theyâre roommates together and become fwb. theyâre too dumb to realize they like each other. they have 2 understandings: they canât fool around with each other while theyâre dating other people, and they both like joe. this becomes a problem.Â
- theyâre each otherâs date for the ball in ph part one.Â
- one of the reasons carter doesnât recognize scott as being his sibling is that scottâs grandparents forced him to go by his middle name bc itâs more âmasculineâ (his full name is madison scott tillman).Â
- ray likes art museums. and anne of green gables.Â
- originally in the early, early version of defect (back when i was in high school) rayâs parents were divorced? iâm not sure if theyâre still divorced in this one, but most of the stuff i imagine later is ray interacting with his dad, so maybe...his mom was like a stage mom and his parents got divorced over it? not really sure. (now iâm picturing like a group for single parents at the rec center, and rayâs dad is friends with danielâs mom, johnnyâs mom, and isaacâs dad. they bond over their divorces and their childrenâs antics)
