#1. “Hater” (Comfort/Mark jazz), Ray Leeper
Did this remind anyone else of You Need from season 11? I think it’s just the Sonya-esque lusty fight jazz feel. Also the red outfit that comfort is wearing. And the chair. I don’t mind, though. I like anything that reminds me of Queen Tanisha. It’s kind of funny since I said last week that Mark was the Rudy of the season.
But Comfort! I’m not surprised that she was this good at jazz since she’s obviously been training since her season (and she was never bad even though the judges tried to get us to believe that), but gotdamn. I can’t wait to see what else she’s going to blow my mind at. The real surprise here was Mark.
I did not expect him to be this good at this. That leap he did was pretty gorgeous and makes me wonder what else he’s been holding out on. He again was able to channel all his energy into just the right mood for this piece, and the chemistry was through the roof! I felt uncomfortable watching at times lol. They have the best connection of any of the couples this season, hands down. Marko/Koine is probably the closest, but these two are something else together.
So, Nigel, I think these two are the actual couple to beat. They’ve done two completely different styles now and have managed to both dance them exceptionally and retain their amazing chemistry. I’m excited to see what they do tonight!
(EDIT: LOL I put Rudy instead of Mark on top at first. My bad.)
