The Neverhood UE4 by Ravenok (based on The Neverhood by The Neverhood, Inc.)
A very small portion of The Neverhood, painstakingly recreated in 3D over 250 hours. I feel this captures the clay environments in an even more appealing way than the original game was able to due to the resolution and colour palette restrictions of the time, though its brevity ensures it doesn’t truly replace it.
I find myself pondering recent official overhauls of classic adventure games, such as Full Throttle Remastered, which visibly uses upscaling and tracing of the original graphics as a starting point for its HD version. This approach is practical and understandable, but I don’t find it particularly inspirational... versus the wonderful attention to detail that can be found in fan-made takes on individual scenes, such as this and Monkey Island 2 Special-Uber Edition.
