What are 3 of your favorite musical movies/tv episodes?
This is a dangerous question to ask me, Raul. lol I love musicals, so you're going to get more than 3 & I won't apologize for it. To be fair, you're used to my yapping & rambling by now. β‘β‘β‘
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
- I love the movie, I can (almost) quote it from memory. I've also seen it live many times. I've done the virgin experience a few of those times because that's always fun with friends. I know it's a lot of people's favorite, but I don't love it any less because of that.
- Ewan McGregor. That's it (jk). I grew up on classic rock & such because of my parents. One of my favorite musicians is Elton John & hearing Ewan's rendition of "Your Song" sent me into a spiral. Of course, then I was exposed to a Moulin Rouge! original, "Come What May," & I cry every single time I hear it. I mean, Nicole Kidman is talented, but her voice with Ewan? Sold. Does the musical/play make sense? Not really. Will I still watch it multiple times a year & see it live whenever it comes to my city? YES.
- Before I start... I know this is more common of an answer than TRHPS & it is beyond problematic, like a lot of things, but that won't stop me from going feral over it. Honestly, if it's being performed by a great company, I believe everyone should see it live at least once in their lives if they're lovers of the arts, because God knows I've seen it performed perfectly & imperfectly. The movie is even absolutely amazing to me. Gerard Butler, Patrick Wilson, Emmy Rossum... HELLO?!?! They all fucking trained for that movie & carried into their lives after the movie. Hell, without the movie, I don't think we would've gotten the collaboration that I didn't know I needed that was "Stay" by Ghost featuring Patrick Wilson for the movie, "Insidious: The Red Door," which was originally done by Shakespears Sister. Again, another musical/play that I can (almost) quote from memory.
[You know me, Raul. I'm doing the TV shows, now. lol]
Buffy The Vampire Slayer "Once More, With Feeling"
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds "Subspace Rhapsody"
Psych "Psych: The Musical"
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia "The Nightman Cometh"
Lucifer "Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam"
Schitt's Creek "Life Is A Caberet"
*No, I will not offer an explanation for any of these because they're all perfect (to me).
