driving was a headache. one second he was speeding down the road and within second he was at a stop sign. some trees looked more like bushes and multiply in numbers then they would be still and less. iron. his mouth tastes of iron and it won’t stop. he only fully stops the car when he reaches the driveway. minutes become seconds as he now stands in front of the door. he remembers stumbling on the tiny step…
when the door opens billy looks at her, no words are spoken yet she lets him in and then speaks. his left hand looks limp in his right one. her words make him chuckle under his breath as he went to the living room where he plops back into the sofa.. “i dunno, princess..!” billy calls out as he examines his bruised & bloody knuckles, “i think the blood adds a charm!” there’s the classic cackle from billy before he hisses in pain from applying pressure to one of his knuckles. his turns his head to the right, watching as she approaches him. “wouldn’t you say i look sexy?” he grinned at her, leg bouncing up and down slightly. despite how bruised and bloodied he looks, he still flaunting charm and smirking. he’s not defeated.
“you don’t seem happy to see me.” his eyelids open halfway and he watches her, shoulders doing tiny shakes back in fourth.
she stays in the bathroom a second longer than necessary, rummaging through the cabinet for the supplies needed despite knowing exactly where everything was - it was an attempt to allow herself to think , to let the situation at hand sink in so she was prepared for whatever this situation would throw her way . no matter what , billy had a knack for getting under people’s skin , even if it wasn’t his direct intention . at least that was the case with coraline , she liked to think she hid it well , for the most part . that the parts she allowed to seep through didn’t show everything she was thinking , always managing to ghost it with eye rolls and bitter comments . it was down to who billy was , always managing to set fire to veins in every shade of emotion , it was one of the reasons she’d always invite him in . no other person had managed to do something like that . no other person made her feel like this . she supposes it was a side effect of growing up in a small town and never seeing much beyond it .
eyes roll , so much so there was a burning behind eyelids at what he shouted . princess . that should be something used to , nicknames like that weren’t something she was particularly fond of , but they were something she had to put up with given it seemed ingrained in billy’s vocabulary when addressing her ❛ hate to break it to you , but you look like shit . i mean , you always do , but this is something else ❜ deadpanned , throwing a wet flannel at his face so he could wipe the blood that covered hand . throwing the various bandages and medicine on the sofa as she sat crossed legged beside him , elbow resting on the back of where she was sat ❛ how would you feel ? me showing up on your doorstep , bloodied up looking like i’m on a come down , and ruining your plans for the night . ❜ she misses the fight to stop the way hand raises to push a strand of hair behind his ear , jesus , even that had a trace of blood within it . there’s a concerned flash behind blue hues , hand falling with ease as the look melts to curiosity as the inevitable question passes lips ❛ what did he do , or ... they ? ❜
