Note: This was written earlier in the day.

Just sitting in the airport right now, reflecting about my stay here. It's been very, very challenging in some ways, but rewarding overall. But this post isn't about any really profound insight, or anything. (Maybe that's for a different post?)

So, Saturday was a big day for me. For an hour, I presented what I learned in Rappad panchayat. There was both a fiscal and policy aspect to it. First, how much money went into Rappad during the 2010-11 fiscal year? Second, how does each department do its work? What are the flaws in the system? Sure, all of that is important and all, but the bigger deal was that I presented it in English AND Hindi! In front of like 70 people! Dr. Didi helped me out when I was having trouble -- can't say my Hindi is good enough for nuanced statements.

I was really happy with myself. For several days previous, I was pretty nervous about it. But it definitely worked out as most things go. Best part? I got a hug from Dr. Didi afterward. Dr. Didi is a formidable woman with high standards but a big heart. When you get a hug from her, you literally feel enveloped in love.

My "goodbye" today was also really special. Sunitaji said some very kind things about me and my experience, while Dr. Didi praised me for my work. ("I am very, very happy with this sweet girl's work!")

I know my project is only an imperfect start to something larger. Still, it feels really good to know that I met everyone's expectations -- especially Dr. Didi's!

Anyway, I'm not going to upload my presentation, but if you want to flip through my report, I'm embedding it below. WARNING: It's a little rushed in parts and far from perfect. I'll admit I was rushing a little near the end! I think if I had another couple days I would add in the "Table of Contents" and a proper summary page for my findings. With that caveat..
