idk if ur comfy w this and you don't gotta answer if not but what's a system or an endo?
[[₊˚⊹ ⁀➴ ᰔ‧₊˚⊹] Nah, it's fine! So basically, being a system is kind of a multiple-people-one-body kind of thing. Most systems (but not all, more on this later) experience switches, which is when the person in control of the body is changed from one alter to another. Now, some don't experience switches; these are median systems. I'm not very knowledgeable on them, as we are not one ourselves, but from what I know, a median system is either:]
Too blurry to tell where individuals alter are ALL the time, but still definitely plural
OR there's a "shell" alter, who always fronts, and can be influenced by the others
[[₊˚⊹ ⁀➴ ᰔ‧₊˚⊹] Once again, we are not median systems, so don't take what we say to heart. Now on the topic of endos. ]
[[₊˚⊹ ⁀➴ ᰔ‧₊˚⊹] There are traumagenic systems, and then there are endogenic systems. Traumagenic systems occur from, well, trauma, and endogenic is an umbrella term covering everything that's not traumagenic. For example, willogenic, which means you willed your system into life. As well as that, a system can be mixed origin, which means that some alters came from one thing and the rest came from another, or that the entire system's origin is a combination (for example, traumawillo means you willed your system to life as a way to cope with trauma.) ]
[[₊˚⊹ ⁀➴ ᰔ‧₊˚⊹] There are many misconceptions about endos. ]
"You can only be a system because of trauma!" - This is wrong. My alters are very much real. The fact that I feel them should be proof enough.
"Oh, endos are okay, they just have trauma that they don't remember!" - This is also wrong. That's not saying endos are valid, that's saying that traumagenic systems are valid and endos are just misguided. That's stupid.
"Endos are trans-DID/trans-OSDD!" This is, again, wrong. Endos are not claiming to have disorders.
"I mean, I guess endos are okay, but they should make their own terms..." Honey, the terms "plural" and such were made by endos.
"If you're an endo system, then you must LOVE being plural!" Nope! While many do, it is not impossible for an endo system to have just as much as a hard time as traumagenic systems. And that's okay. Because once again, they're not claiming to have trauma.
"If you have trauma, you're a traumagenic system, even if you think you're endogenic!" False. Endogenic systems can have trauma, but it doesn't have to be specifically connected to their origins.
"There is MEDICAL EVIDENCE that systems come from TRAUMA so YOU DON'T EXIST!!11!!1!" There's also scientists trying to disprove the idea of systems as a whole. There are scientists. Actively making "evidence". To disprove YOUR existence too. You are not the only one at risk here.
[[₊˚⊹ ⁀➴ ᰔ‧₊˚⊹] Obviously, all systems are valid and should be respected, unless they disrespect other systems themself! Thank you for asking, I love answering questions! [Scourge [She/they/it/goat]]]
