I swear to God I have a feeling this started out as "women who call out people on shitty behaviour/sexist opinions cause they have a spine and are fearless" are baddies but at this point no one fucking talks about that, it has been limited to being "unhinged" and just dressing up a bold way or simply dressing up. Now there's no issue in being unhinged and dressing like a baddie, whatever that means, but the issue is limiting it to just that. All these memes, posts and "idea" of a baddie that I see that are posted by people at large relate back to "baddies" being desirable because of their "unhinged-ness" and their looks and the way they dress (which is usually bold and is a statement in itself).
But again this limits the idea of who a "baddie" is to down to a lady who is "unhinged" and someone who dresses boldly, rather than expanding it to being "outspoken and standing your ground and calling out people."
The word has become synonymous to how desirable one is rather than how outspoken a person is. This is very annoying to me, to say the least.
THE FUCK THAT MEANS? LOW MAINTENANCE GHARELU BADDIE????
We also have Desi Baddies, Tall Baddies, Small Baddies, Baddies that wear bold revealing clothes, Baddies do makeup, baddies that don't etc etc. (I'm sure you have seen those posts and memes)
Now the whole idea of a baddie being boiled down to just looks must've been done by people who don't really understand the word or couldn't digest it the way it was, so they understood it the only way they could that is "how one looks".
I don't care how one dresses. Do whatever you please (I WANT YOU TO DO WHATEVER YOU LIKE) but please don't be a baddie who just looks like a baddie and does not act like a baddie. Call that shitty friend out on his/her/their sexist joke whether you're in a saree (a "desi baddie") or in a body con (a "conventional" baddie).
