According to local folklore, the bluebells are said to have risen from the blood of the Norman warriors slain here at the Battle of Rannerdale. After some rainfall, the setting sun suddenly made an appearance on the horizon beyond Crummock Water and the majestic mountain of Mellbreak. This picture is comprised of 3 separate images which I stitched together in order to capture the swathes of beautiful blooms in front of me.
