I decided to make some flower themed Self-Ship userboxes. ❀˖°

᯽ The Bleeding Heart flower has several meanings and symbolisms, including unconditional love. The heart-shaped flowers of the bleeding heart represent strong and unconditional love.

᯽ Due to their bright yellow petals and sun-like appearance, Sunflowers symbolise positivity, warmth, and joy. They are often associated with the sun, representing life, energy, and vitality.

᯽ The flower of Lavender personifies healing, purity of heart, faithfulness, serenity, and peace of mind. Stemming from its historical use for cleansing and its calming properties.

᯽ Honeysuckle symbolises devotion, reflecting the enduring strength of relationships, both romantic and platonic. Its ability to cling mirrors human dedication, emphasising everlasting bonds.

᯽ In China, Cherry Blossoms symbolise love, femininity, and the strength of women. They are often associated with beauty and romantic charm.

᯽ The Thistle symbolises masculinity through its association with strength, pride, resilience, and defense, stemming from its spiky nature and its role as a national symbol of Scotland.

᯽ Sweet Peas symbolise blissful pleasure and gratitude, they were often given to express thanks for a wonderful experience or time spent together.

❥ Imagine: Playing the lip smacker kissing game with your f/o. Choose a random lip balm flavour out of a bunch and apply it to your lips. Make sure your f/o’s eyes are closed the whole time (don't let them peek), and when you kiss them, they have to try and guess which flavour it was you chose. It’s a lot of fun, giggling and kissing, and you can take turns switching between choosing and guessing. ♡

Don’t be surprised when the game eventually derails into a make out session though… (˶o˶˶o˶) !!

❥ Reminder: Please know that you are not automatically a proshipper if you self-ship, no matter what those crazy bastards try to tell you! No, self-shipping wasn’t “invented by proshippers”; that’s simply not true whatsoever considering self-shipping has been around for wayyyyyyy longer than the existence of the proship label and just fandom all together. Humans throughout history have daydreamed about smooching made-up characters and made works to express those feelings; a bunch of predators online definitely didn’t invent that, and it’s insane to see so many of them convince themselves and try to manipulate vulnerable people (especially minors) into believing that.

And sorry not sorry, but I’m going to be really blunt here and say: you literally cannot identify as proship and uphold the core belief that “fiction doesn’t affect reality” while simultaneously identifying as fictoqueer… It’s a fucking oxymoron, and you look stupid, because guess what??? You’re a real person! And fiction is directly influencing your very real sexuality and relationships!

But yeah, self-shippers and proshippers are not “siblings”, and we’re not “all holding hands”, and the self-shippers who are just having harmless fun with their f/os have a right to want nothing to do with that sick and twisted community. People should be allowed to have boundaries that make them feel safe, without having a weirdo in their ear trying to guilt them into thinking otherwise.

Proshippers can bitch and whine all they want, but the truth is the self-ship community is much better off without them polluting it.

❥ Suggestion: If your f/o doesn’t have a lot of merch or it’s not easily accessible to you, a cute little thing that I would recommend if you want something comforting and physical to remind you of your ship is getting plushies of things that uniquely represent you both. I know a lot of people have animals they personally resonate with and animals that they heavily associate with their f/os. A really sweet thing is getting plushies of said animals to cuddle and play with, and whenever you look at them, it’s literally mini fluffy versions of you and your beloved together. You can even personalise things further with various accessories and apply a little perfume if there's a particular scent you like to associate with your f/o. ♡

Just remember, make sure to never ever separate them! ꒰ᐢ. .ᐢ꒱

❥ Reminder: Expressing your feelings and communicating can be pretty damn hard sometimes, and very much so for neurodiverse individuals, especially with a feeling so amazingly profound as love. I really hope you know that if you’re not the best with romantic words, or physical intimacy, etc… Your f/o is understanding of that, because you’ll always be enough to them! Your f/o can definitely, without a doubt, tell how much you love and adore them! They wouldn’t want you to needlessly push yourself out of your comfort zone to prove that love; besides, that just wouldn’t truly be you, and they fell in love with you exactly the way you are, awkwardness, quirks and all. Just spending good quality time and being with you is enough for them to feel that special love you share, and that’s such a beautiful thing. ♡
