#random generators

I had not, but checked it out and it certainly has potential for what I'm trying to do (historical name generator with accurate period statistics).

So this is still a bit WIP (could use a little fancying up, but I need to learn HTML for that, lol) but here is the result of my last few weeks of work: The Random Hearthian Generator!

It generates:

A name (450 possibilities!)

Their general age group

A general descriptor of height and build

Eye color and description

Ear description

Whether they wear glasses

Skin color

Marking type and description

Their job (or aspiration, if they're young)

What instrument they play (if any)

An emotion they often/rarely feel (as a basic seed for a personality)

Their favorite accessory or article of clothing and its origin (in lieu of designing a full outfit)

I figure this could be useful for folks who need to come up with a character on the fly, or who need a bit of inspiration for an OC. I've tried to make it as headcanon-agnostic as possible, but depending on your own interpretations you may need to make a mental substitution or two (mostly the friction point is the "origin of favorite accessory/clothing," which may or may not line up with one's HCs of Hearthian social structures)

So I threw together a blogspot a few years back, intending to give myself a place to put game design thoughts, but never got around to using it. Sometime last year though, I started to write down a lot of my miscellaneous game design ideas to better keep track of them in my head. Sometime this month I realized I had an even better place to put them than the wordpad on my laptop!

I'm honestly in love with The Sims 4. I love the CAS feature, but it's so easy for me to make similar sims over and over again with the same old gameplay. So, I've decided to make a generator to help me come up with more creative ideas for my sims. I hope this helps out fellow players if they are out of ideas for adult sims!

Roll a title

Reroll if you get a repeat word (i.e. "A Game of Blades and Games"), if you get the title of something that already exists, if it doesn’t work gramatically, or if you otherwise just really hate it.

Share how you would write it or what you think it would be about! (Can be anything from just a couple words summing up the main topic, to a synopsis you might find on the book, to a scene)

The Twelfth Doctor and Jackie in an adventure in the London Underground, armed only with their wits and a stolen vehicle.

(Enough said. !!)

The Ninth Doctor and Kate Stewart in an adventure involving a time scoop, armed only with their wits and a banana.

(also. enough said.)

The First Doctor and Yaz and Dan in an adventure that was supposed to be a holiday, armed only with their wits and a copy of the Mona Lisa.

(So, in their travels back in that bit in Flux, Yaz and Dan run into One... and shenanigans ensue. obv. possibly with a heist involving a fake Mona Lisa none of them know is fake.)

The Meddling Monk and Vicki in an adventure with Torchwood, armed only with their wits and a riddle.

(However the Monk thought this would go, it will not. Vicki will have a good time, though, regardless.)

The Third Doctor and Bernice in an adventure with Ogrons, armed only with their wits and nudity.

("Hang on, how am I nude but you're not? I mean, granted, that jacket is a look, but... screw that, can I borrow it? Not that I'm a prude, but I draw the line at stripping for Ogrons.")

The Sixth Doctor and Molly in an adventure in a utopia, armed only with their wits and botannical knowledge.

(I want this suddenly a surprising amount. Also the generator is frequently insistent that Six has botannical knowledge. <3)

The Eleventh Doctor and Frobisher in an adventure with Faction Paradox, armed only with their wits and willingness to commit arson.

(I have no words, but Eleven would LOVE having an adventure with Frobisher. FP is a worrying addition, but, hey, they're going to commit arson, it'll be fine.)

The Fourteenth Doctor and Grace in an adventure with Cybermen, armed only with their wits and a cricket bat.

(I like that the 14th Doctor ones tend to just start looking like he's a) really dedicated about catching up with all his former companions while he's sort of retired and b) lol, not that retired.)

The Seventh Doctor and Amy in an adventure where they're chased through time, armed only with their wits and a Coal Hill School tie.
