"Ugh --- what is life." Cue the prolongued gaze at the sky as he extended one hand, as if trying to reach it, then abruptly dropping it with a heavy sigh. Exhausting. Fingers scratched the darkened skin beneath his eyes, a long yawn escaping him, but no attempts of covering his mouth out of manners were noticed.
And, yeah, he's currently laying on a bench as if it was his own bed.
ooc: Drafts, drafts, and more drafts.
[[ I'm clearing out my drafts.
I mean no personal offense to any muns or muses out there, but I have a lot of drafts built up, and I can't tend to all of them. The motivation just isn't there, and it's gotten to the point that just looking at my drafts is daunting. I'm going to try to focus on just a few, and see if I can't, y'know, actually stick to it, instead of having another burst of activity followed by a week of hiatus.
Right now, the drafts that I know I'm keeping belong to colonel-flame-alchemist, heart-of-automail, and dolcetters. If I owe you a post and you really, really, really want to continue our thread, you can feel free to message me, and I'll see what I can do. c: I'm not doing this to be mean, I just don't want to be overloaded again.
If you owe me a post -- randlebegone comes to mind, along with enlistedman -- then our rp is still running. <3 ]]

"Weren't you the poor sap working that bar in Central a few months back when I hit someone over the head with a wine bottle and unleashed Hell?"
Good times.
ALEX & RANDLE BECUZ WHY NOT
Name: Cain Lowell Patrick (Cain, meaning ‘spear,’ derived from Randle’s meaning of ‘shield rim.’ Lowell means ‘wolf,’ owing to his appearance).
Gender: Male
General Appearance: Grey-haired and grey-eyed, Cain appears to have taken on a strange mesh of genes from his parents — some of Randle’s apparently not translating right. Still, while not quite matching his parents, he’s handsome in his own right. With skin as pale as his mother’s, and the sharp features of his father, he cuts a very definitive look — tall, wiry, lithe, and fully capable of standing out, with muscles slim, but not at all nonexistent.
Personality: With parents like these two, you’d expect this boy to be absolute chaos, right? You’d actually be fairly inaccurate! Alex as a mother softens up quite a bit, and starts taking on more domestic duties, recognizing her obligation toward her children as being more important than her own boasting and messing around — so while young Cain would take after his father immediately, being excitable, and eager to get out and get stuff done, screw anyone who says otherwise, Alex would be the one to make sure he’s not leaving the house without a sweater, he gets back before dinner, and when he gets in fights with the local kids, he gets a good scolding for it when he comes home. In the end, Alex wants to raise a gentleman, not a bully.
She would succeed, too. Cain would inevitably soften up from his mother’s influence, and start taking an interest in less destructive things; eventually, he’d decide that solving all his problems with his fists is simply uncivilized; after all, much like his father, he was born silver-tongued, and his mother, with her own wit, would cultivate that. He still has his father’s drawl, of course, and he’s still undeniably loud, but if he’s not using his voice, in the end, he’s having less fun. He wants to show off, and the best way to do that, is not to be like the other boys.
Besides, it turns out he’s not very good at fighting, anyway — with a bit of a timid streak to him, he tends to flinch, and falter.
Eventually, he ends up raised with a surprising amount of respect for other people instilled in him. He’s not as much get-out-and-go as his father, not quite as soft as his mother turns out to be, but still a fairly decent person at heart — with a great love for people.
Special Talents: Given how much he likes to talk, and listen to other people talk, and how good he is at convincing others in and out of things, he’d probably end up a bartender like his pop, or a businessman — perhaps going into advertising. He’d probably have a brief stint with babysitting, too; maybe acting. He’s unsuited for the military, and simply isn’t intellectually-inclined enough to take interest in alchemy, or any of the finer arts.
Who they like better: Cain would spend the most time with his mom, but he’d really look up to his dad, and want to be like him.
Who they take after more: Cain does his best to match his father’s image, all rough-and-tumble, manly as hell — but on the inside, he’s really more timid and soft than that. Naturally, he’d be more like Alex — but because of his environment, he ends up being an even blend.
Personal Headcanon: Part of why Cain doesn’t do so well in fights is because of Randle’s smoking habit — young Cain’s lungs suffer from secondhand smoke, giving him the same coughing habit as his mother (albeit for a different reason), and reducing his stamina drastically. This fades and heals as he gets older, however, and Randle learns to be more careful.
Face Claim: Kia Welbehenna, from Absolute Obedience [this is a violent, yaoi H-game; if you’re going to look it up, be prepared].
