Just remembering that time I explained to my (now deceased) dad that his logic of me "choosing men" like how he "chose women" because "-kid, everyone finds everyone else attractive, that's just biology. But eventually you calm down and choose which way you want to swing. And most people go the traditional route." wasn't how it worked.
Cause I chose A MAN but I had dated girls and still found them attractive. Like how he chose his wife but could still acknowledge other women were pretty. Neither of us acted on our observations of attractive people who weren't our partners because we were in committed relationships.
The way I could see his mind exploding as he stared off into space for a minute.
He brushed it off, made a joke about being too old and too married for it to make much any difference anyhow, and we never spoke of it again.
But I still think about the fact that my dad was very likely a repressed bisexual man. They do say queerness is hereditary.
