I mean the short answer is: Lucas/Sarah

The long answer is: SO LET ME BRING UP A FOUR-YEAR-OLD GRUDGE.

So s8 starts and into the morgue waltzes Sarah Caulfield, the CIA’s new MI5 liaison, who immediately starts flirting with Lucas, who is 100% flirting back.  There’s a dead body there, but they are totally flirting and he is checking her ass out as she leaves and it’s just very “OMFG GUYS THIS IS NOT THE PLACE”.  Lucas screws her over on practically her first day on the job because that is the kind of thing Lucas does and she declares that she will get payback because that is the kind of person Sarah is.

So here we have two intelligent, well-spoken, clever, ruthless, attractive, charming spies who are clearly into each other and know it.  And whelp they kiss and have sex and little coffee dates next to buildings between their respective home bases and Sarah was smart and badass and okay her accent was from a different part of the US every time she opened her mouth but still I REALLY LIKED HER and I REALLY LIKED HER AND LUCAS TOGETHER.

And this is where the grudge comes in.  Because I’m telling this to someone I thought was a friend.  I’m telling them, every episode, how I hope Sarah and Lucas hook up, omfg they’ve hooked up this is the best, look at them power couple I love it, this is the best ship ever (besides Lucas/Ros), I love it I love her I love it.

And then Sarah throws her boss down a 7-story drop before he can find out she’s part of the season’s Big Bad.

And I scream to my so-called ‘friend’.  And they laugh.

(Honestly she admits to still laughing every time I bring it up which is literally every time she convinces me to watch a new show and then sometimes on Saturdays just for shits and giggles.)
