Hard Mode: 8, 15, 20, 23, 31, and 41
Lucas/Jolt and Sawyer/Bux
8. Has your character ever fired a gun? If so what was their first target?
Dis is fallout BABEY everyone's shot a gun.
Lucas started with target practice, so basic things like cans/bottles/etc.
Bux started with hunting, so birds and small animals like squirrels/chickens/etc.
15. Is your character preoccupied with money or material possession? Why or why not?
Jolt has attachments to certain items because they hold sentimental value or are useful/important to him in someway; and he's generally worried about having some amount of caps or trade able items, but not because he's greedy, he just has a lot of people to look after. If the things that happened to him didn't, and he was on his own, then he absolutely wouldn't.
Bux is a very "live in the moment" kind of person. Caps are spent asap, and he has no attachments to any kind of material. He doesn't hold on to money or things because they aren't important to him. He used to very sentimental, however.
20. In what ways does you character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism?
Jolt doesn't compare himself to the others around him unless he looks up to them, and even then it's less a comparison and more of analyzing the things about them that he likes and seeing how he can apply them to himself or utilize them for their assets.
Bux has a tendency to latch on to the people around him very quickly, and seeks their validation, whether he actually wants to do that or not. He thrives on the validation of others.
23. What does you character dislike in other people.
In general they both hate people who have a kind of ~holier than thou~ additude about themselves.
Jolt in particular hates people who are boastful and prideful, but then have nothing to show for it. If you promise something like that, he will ~personally~ see to it that you can actually do it or eat your words if you can't.
Bux hates people who refuse to listen. People who refuse to change or even consider seeing things from the other side. He also generally doesn't enjoy people with a clingy personality; which is ironic because he has a clingy personality.
31. Describe a scenario where your character is the most comfortable.
It's relatively the same for the both of them. A warm meal being cooked, coffee/drinks on the table, judgement free zone where you can sit wherever if you don't feel comfortable sitting at the table. Music playing lightly in the background, surrounded by the people who make you feel safe and loved on warm afternoon.
When Jolt feels safe, the first thing that happens is usually him falling asleep. On occasion it takes a little intoxication for him to fully relax, with day tripper or whiskey most often, or weed. He's reluctant to admit it but having someone he trusts close by or holding his hand/touching his hair often helps him relax. He finds himself most comfortable inside. (Weed is Cannon in my version of fallout. Fight me.)
Bux is extremely extroverted but he often finds comfort in being alone as well. Being allowed to tinker with something, or sit around and read the same few comics he's found laying around or drawn by his friends. He generally likes being outside, or leaving a door or window open; if not a fan going nearby.
41. Does your character feel that they deserve to have what they want, whether it be material or abstract, or do they feel they must earn it first?
For Jolt it really depends on situation. If it's an item or food he will often make it himself, or ask Bux to make it for him in exchange for doodles and comics (or the permission for Bux to draw in his journal.) Unlike most raiders, he's actually quite willing to trade or buy the things he needs as well, or work for them. He does however, feel no remorse for completely obliterating the people in his way of getting what he wants or needs, or the people that treat him or his loved ones wrong. God save any vendor or trader that treats him poorly when met with him being kind. They either will wake up with less than crumbs, or not wake up at all.
Bux, similarly is willing to polite with most traders and vendors; usually. Bux has pretty sticky fingers, and will smile a big wonky grin to your face, tell you amazing stories, engaging tales, give you genuine advice on how to improve things, and the whole time you won't notice all the things he's slipped into his bag or pockets. He will make the things he needs if he can't find them, or someone else to make them for him. He's often less willing to work for things, and more willing to convince other to do it for him. Or just take it.
This was actually fun. I really enjoy being able to blarb about my characters without having to deal with carpal tunnel and an aching back because drawing comics sucks. (I have five pages down. 5/20. That's like 25% (minus the missing covers and extra pages 🙃)
