#PokemonGo #EventRaichu #HatRaichu Evolution
I like the idea of allowing my Pokémon to live up to their highest potential, so I try to evolve every Pokémon I definitively decided to keep rather than stunting its growth. I just feel like being a trainer should mean growth n progress.
Since the app/game has gone through various dry spells, like lack of getting potions, or revive crystals, or pushing PVP, or various tasks that often include evolving a specific Pokémon, it got me to rethink, re-strategize, reevaluate, and re-prioritize my approach to Evolutions especially once Team Go Rocket 🚀 entered the picture...
I often found that many of my highest CP Pokémon have terrible IVs. Especially if they were SHINY. This really caused me to rethink the value of a Shiny Pokémon. Like, what’s the point of being shiny? Shouldn’t a Shiny Pokémon by default be better???? But, most of mine that r Shiny r the absolute worst performing Pokémon. Also, there’s no longer any point of defending a PokéGym anymore. U can only get up to 50 coins anymore, so it better to put in a useless Pokémon so u can keep the good ones for Raids.
So, a Shiny Evolution is just a trophy to dump in a PokéGym to get coins. There’s no point in defending a PokéGym long enough than getting 50 coins per day. Everyone knows this now, so there’s often baby low CP Pokémon in gyms or Snorlax, Slaking, maybe a bad IV Blissy, or a junk IV Shiny.
PokéGyms often tend to have a theme lately. Like the first Pokémon in the gym might be blue, so everybody else puts in a blue one... or all shiny, or hats, or costumes, or fairy 🧚🏼♀️, Dragon 🐉, or whatever....
Well, I still like the idea of evolving my Pokémon. I have a huge collection of Pikachu w hats, but now PVP leagues have big meaningfulness.... so, now I have all these Raichus with hats, with good CPs but trash 🗑 IVs....
So, when it comes to Shiny Pokémon, especially the Community Day ones, I have to prioritize Evolutions based on IVs over CPs. But shiny ones I only evolve to the 2nd Evolutions only and keep the normal Pokémon for Evolutions.
This was a major issue for Machamp, but also Blaziken, and Infernape!
If u haven’t caught a lot of a certain starter Pokémon the IVs r highly likely to be poor, even tho the CPs r high. Also some Pokémon have better stats depending on its gender -if it’s a gendered Pokémon... depends....
So, if the CP is under 70% u won’t want to keep it, unless it’s shiny, which is good for trades. But, if the CP is extremely high n the IV is still low, it could be a good Lucky trade in a year... but as u keep grinding n catching more Pokémon of that type, it’s highly more likely that u will get that exact same high CP but with a better IV, so u could transfer it.
The better n better the IVs get, after a while u will start to get good IVs every time. Then u need to dump the lesser ones to make room for the ones ur keeping.
So, if u only get less than 70% IVs at first ur gonna wanna get rid of them... unless the CPs r really high... but once u start getting 80%IVs ur gonna want to dump anything n everything less than that... but after a while, u will be getting very high IVs... so in that case only keep the 82% IVs n dump everything lower than that unless it’s shiny.
But, once u start getting a ton of 89% and above that ur shiny IVs might also be getting better. So dump the lowest CP Pokémon that r 82% because U’ll probably get tons of these.
But, if there’s still a lot of time left to play Community Day or an event n u keep getting like 91% Pokémon, u need to start dumping the lowest IVs in ur batch. Only keep an 82% IV in that case is it’s the highest CP u can get a d its weather boosted. Otherwise, u gotta transfer it. Because now u hit the pinnacle! U will just get good IVs from then on! U need to keep on grinding until the end, so u don’t want to run out of storage space!
Then, when it comes to the Evolutions... u need to hold off until the end no matter how bad it went for the first 2 hours, or if it’s a long event the first 2-3 days r terrible in stats. U WILL REGRET evolving something prematurely! 😬 because u need the candies 🍭 to evolve THE BEST ONES!
When choosing a Shiny to Evolve ONLY EVOLVE A SHINY POKÉMON above 73% especially if it’s CP is very high! Mostly u want to evolve 82% or higher even if the CP is low for The Great League in PVP. Personally, I go for the highest IVs first, n evolve all the way to the 3rd Evolution! I go based on how good it would be in PVP otherwise she’s just a Gym Defender nobody.... a pretty face to get coins... 😒
After that I just go for the BEST POKÉMON to evolve.... they’re generally NEVER SHINY! Shinies r basically handicapped disabled Pokémon with sparkles ✨ most of the time.... but Community Day, or Special Events, have good moves or unique event moves....
Hopefully u can evolve everything that’s the best stats... but once u get lower on candies 🍬, u can evolve them to the 2nd Level Evolutions. I tend to only evolve Shiny Pokémon w bad stats to level 2 Evolutions only, because they’re more powerful in the 2nd Evolutions, but never worth it for the 3rd Evolutions because if the CP is high, it takes up the slots for gym battles n raids that r better suited for something w better IVs.
I learned all of this the hard way. I’m now Level 40, so that’s as good as it gets.....
Anyways, I’m a bit at a loss to prioritize my Raichus lately.... I keep trying to stack up ones w good IVs n hopefully good enough CPs together....
