reddit is fucking lame now. someone had to say it and i will gladly be that someone. three years ago it was a totally different website. the problem isn't that it's more popular, because i think it's pretty cool that it is reaching a wider audience. the problem is that people are such karma whores and 80% of the content i see on a daily basis is completely unoriginal, be it reposts or stolen content from tumblr (except for r/tumblr, which is where all of the content SHOULD GO) or other forms of social media. r/AdviceAnimals used to be so great, and now people don't even know what the hell they are doing and most of the time the templates are incorrectly used. and don't even get me started on r/f7u12- man, that shit used to be some funny shit. you can thank hot topic for killing that one with their ragetoon shirts. facebook killed memes in general because now any random motherfucker thinks they know what they are doing when they make one, when in fact they have no goddamn clue. i cringe every time i see memes anymore. i suppose it's really not a reddit problem, but some subreddits are dead to me. it's still a great place to catch up on various happenings in the world and places like r/trees are still fun, but... it's just so different. my problem is that i used reddit heavily for a while, then when i made a tumblr i strayed away from it and i've recently made a new reddit account and have tried to get back into it but... it's just not the same anymore.
