Here is the Basics and other info/headcannons about my Arcana Apprentice, Raewynn. Itās based on the Apprentice April Asks #1 from @starblazerm31
I donāt usually get asks and I just reallyĀ wanted to do this so WHY NOT.
The Basics
Name: Raewynn
Age: Early thirties (31-32)
Height: 5ā²10ā³
Completion: Very pale, you can easily see all her veins on the undersides of her arms
Hair color: She changes it often, though it it usually in the BIV section of the rainbow to match her tartan
Identifies as she/her
Love Interest:
Dr. Julian Devorak. She was dumbstruck from the beginning (both times ahaha). She was attracted by his looks and dashing all black outfit. She just couldnāt get the good doctor out of her head. Once she got to know him as the big dork he is though, well it was all over but the crying.
Familiar:
Raewynn has a petite tortoiseshell cat named Maeve. Raewynn and her mother nursed her back to health shortly before her mother succumbed to the Red Plague. Maeve is inquisitive, but easily frightened so she seldom leaves the shop. Raewynn is secretly very happy, because once she regains her memory, Maeve is a lasting reminder of her mother.
Hobbies:
She is an avid reader, who prefers local histories, mythologies, and folk stories. Also baking, as she finds it therapeutic to beat the crap out of something and it still yields such a satisfying (and delicious) result.
Hidden Talents:
She is a storyteller, in the oldest of sense. Oh yes, Julian can spin quite a yarn, but Raewynn knows ballads, songs, and folk stories from all over the known world (even before she regained her full memory). And while Julianās stories tend to be boisterous and funny, she has a very different style. A quiet way that if you listen for more than a minute, you just have to know the end.
Magical Talents:
She is very highly skilled in rudimentary magic and the basics. Before the plague, even, she was much more interested in the scholarly aspects of magic verses the application of it. So basically sheās the opposite of Arsa.Ā
Interpersonal Interactions:
Raewynn is very personable, kind, and open. Unlike never-gives-a-straight-answer Arsa, sheās rather good at working the front end of the store, hearing peopleās needs and offering advice and magical remedies. Actually, most of the comments Arsa gets from customers is how kind and thoughtful she is. That being said, she is also an introvert so once the shop is closed her person battery is spent.Ā
Romantic Interactions:
She has two major love languages: gift giving and physical touch.
The gift doesnāt have to be expensive, but it will be thoughtful and something the recipient will truly enjoy. Julian never knows what to do because a) you gave me--a gift? You didnāt have to, I donāt deserve it, and b) HE SUCKS AT GIVING GIFTS. Portia, however, loves this because she has never gotten better gifts since when they started dating XD
Physical touch for Raewynn isnāt about sex (though thatās always nice!) but the quiet little everyday touches: handholding, placing her hand on the small of Julianās back, playing with his hair, and hugs ESPECIALLY hugs.
Time Together with Love Interest:
This took them some time to work out, hahah. Julian is the extrovert and loves getting rowdy, while Raewynn likes quiet, intimate time with family and friends. They tend to take turns choosing what theyāll do. Raewynnās favorites are the community theater, walks on the beach, picnics at the palace, and any time at Portiaās cottage.
Language:
Her first language was from her native land, Caledonia. She is also fluent in the major language of Vesuvia. She can read a few more languages than she speaks, however, since she is scholarly.
Memory:Ā
After the events of the Masquerade and regaining her memory, it took about a whole month for it to all come back. She was glad to have Julian and his family there as she re-mourned the loss of her family to the plague. Positives is that she is much better at giving advice, since she now has more than 3 years life experience and she remembers so many more folk tales from Caledonia.
