I really enjoyed the process of creating this piece, but felt limited in the time that we were given. If given more time, I would have created a more put together garden to fit inside the greenhouse, along with incorporating the metalwork in the structure of the greenhouse. I would have also liked to try different methods of creating brick work out of cardboard, but I am happy with the outcome regardless of that. 

The area of interest for the project I looked into was Arthur’s Key Park and William Street. Looking at what inspired me which was the park and the people around the park and the street. Mainly researching the people around the area. This was a lot of fun and cant wait to work more on this project as a group.

Stepping into the garden behind the Hunt Museum was like a breath of fresh air. My group was really drawn to the area from the garden to Arthur's Quay. The greenhouse on the path to the footbridge that leads to the old walls of the Potato Market really caught my attention. The man-made structure of the greenhouse, footbridge, and the stone wall in connection to the moss and vines growing from the wall and flora from the greenhouse symbolizes both old and new, nature and nurture. The other members in my group also found themselves drawn to connections between nature and people, giving us space to work together on a cohesive piece.

Drawing on the connection between nature and people, my group decided to create a scene combining which of those elements spoke to us the most. For me, that meant the walls, the bridge, the greenhouse, and the fauna. I used cardboard and loose hessian alongside gathered materials such as sticks for the bridge, tree foliage wound through the bridge inside of the greenhouse, and moss along the walls. I used blue fabric for the river to emulate the movement of the water under the bridge. The process of fitting together the pieces took longer than expected and there were some mishaps with the hot glue gun. I really enjoyed creating the brick texture and painting the Potato Market sign, it was a very peaceful and fun process.
