I'm doing a Pop Renaissance project in which I try to take pop art as it was and jump it forward with the advances technology has given us. I'm calling the stuff I'm making Pop Nouveau right now, but who knows. I'm trying to challenge the concept of work as value that's been around pretty much since the beginning of art - sure, the colors of these pieces took seconds to manipulate after I created the original design, but does that really have any influence on the final product? If I had screenprinted or hand painted these all from scratch, would the images you see be more valuable? Let's think about it.

I made this piece on commission for my dude Michael Sepulveda. He's super chill. This piece is about my last few months and my future, and Cedar Falls and Iowa City.

This one isn't named yet, but it's part of the samurai series I'm working on. This is a swordfight between the samurai and another, lesser samurai. This piece started as a test canvas, where I just tried out my markers, ideas, etc., and threw remnants of other pieces on it to end with one piece. I got to this point and decided that it's done. I'm 'working' on another now, but I just really like the unguided random coolness of it.
