prompt #3: “talk to me about your favorite book”

it’s 3 am and you’ve just opened the second book for your summer reading challenge.

it’s one of those times where you can completely devour a book in 1-2 hours tops and still have the willpower to start another one.

you’re midway into spark’s a walk to remember when your phone rings. wonwoo just sent you a text.

“i cant sleep :<,” the message reads.

“how can i entertain you?” you quickly message back, eager to find out how jamie and landon’s relationship develops.

“anything will do, i think” he replies quicker than expected.

“i’d talk to you about books, but that’s probably gonna put you to sleep,” you tell him although you’re slightly hoping he’d tell you to do so because you’re dying to spill how conference of birds ended, your new favorite.

“no, no. talk to me about your favorite book,” he replies, an unexpected warmth touches your heart.

dear kun,

i hate you.

i hate your laugh, it's too contagious.

i hate your eyes, they're too kind.

i hate your smile and the way your dimples appear when you do. it makes my heart race.

i hate your hands. why are they not intertwined with mine?

i hate your voice because then, i'd let you sing me to sleep. and oh how i long for you to play with my hair as i lay on your chest, your voice the last thing i hear before i drift off sleeping.

and most of all, i hate that all the things i mentioned above are the things that make me LOVE (yes, in big, bold letters to emphasize my feelings) you.

so as you can tell by now, i don't hate you. i would add more, but if i do, i'm afraid i'll be up all night. then the next day, you'd ask me how much sleep i got, because by then, you'd figure out i didn't get enough sleep.

you know me so well. but not well enough to know how much i love you.

prompt #32: "take your time"

"i hate everything so much" you violently sob while leaning against seongyoon's arms

"let it out, y/n" he says calmly as he gently rubs your shoulders with his soft hands

"i just. i'm so frustrated at myself. i don't see myself improving in anything i do" you reply sighing and crying even harder than earlier "at this point, i should just give up and stop"

"what? no, don't say that" seongyoon instantly replies firmly "you're improving and i know you might think no one notices, but i do" he adds as a tear falls from his eye. it hurts him to see you like this.

"i just dont even think this is the right thing for me anymore" you reply sniffing and get up from his lap, which you've been resting on as a pillow. "how many times have i ran to you because of the same reason? i cant even count it with two hands"

"i know it's hard right now. but this is your passion we're talking about. i can't just let you let go of it" seongyoon says as he cups your face to wipe your tears

"pls, y/n. rest tonight and tomorrow, when you wake up think about what you're considering right now. and pls pls pls take your time, don't rush this okay?" seongyoon pleads before planting a small kiss on your forehead.

prompt #42: "im so proud of you"

time seemed to pass by quickly as you anxiously waited backstage for your performance. you shook your hands quietly to try and calm down. it helped a little. just a little.

the stage lights behind the curtain, where you watch the other team's performance, started to dim and your team members murmur to each other, giggling anxiously. the other school's performance were done and it's your school's turn.

"group one! please go to your blocking!" the team manager quietly shouted.

"let's go guys!!" the rest of the team cheered as you and the other 6 members in group one made your way to the stage.

everyone hurrily arranged themselves according to their blockings, while the stage curtain remained down.

"i'm so nervous" you whispered to yeeun, a fellow dancer who was to the left of you.

"once the music starts, you'll forget you're on the stage and i believe in you y/n. let's go!" she looked up and gave you a reassuring smile.

as the curtain that was once preventing everyone from seeing you started to lift, you immediately searched for youngtaek. quick, look for him. you scanned the middle row and there he was, staring back at you with a wide and comforting smile. you felt a small smile form on your face and suddenly, your nerves were retreating.

as your group made their final pose, you watched the audience in order to examine their reactions. everyone seemed like they enjoyed your team's performance through all the deafening screams they were letting out.

amidst the rowdy crowd, you spotted youngtaek calling out your name. his eyes catched yours and you flash him a big smile.

"i made it" you mouth from the stage with your smile seeming to never wear off.

prompt #17: "you can have mine"

you sigh at life again, a sigh that comes so natural to you as you've been sighing at life everday since your parents had passed and you're stuck with an auntie and a stuck-up cousin who does nothing but spit insults at you.

your stomach growls loudly, mimicking a beast that cannot wait to be fed. looking around to see whether someone heard your empty stomach, you awkwardly hug yourself to suppress the noise.

the popular class clown, jangjun, walks up to you and tilts his head in confusion.

you slightly raise your eyebrows at him, asking why he's suddenly approaching you.

"you're not eating again" he blurts out and takes a seat while keeping a small distance from you.

"what do you mean again?" you scoff at him while removing your hands from your stomach to hide the fact that you're hungry.

"i haven't seen you eat lunch for three days straight and i know that because i literally play baseball in that field in front of us right now everyday"

"right i forgot" you blatantly reply, hoping that the conversation would finally end.

for a moment, there was silence between the two of you. from the corner of your eye, jangjun keeps fidgeting and glancing at you.

"okay. stay here, dont move. i'll just go get something it'll be quick i promise" jangjun suddenly stands up and hurrily runs towards the cafeteria.

so you sit there, waiting for him to back. completely confused as to why he's even speaking to you in the first place.

"oh hi you didn't go away. okay well im here" he comes back, panting slightly while carrying a tray filled with lunch food.

"you can have mine" he says as he hands you the tray filled with school food.

"huh what?" you question his intentions, refusing to take the tray.

"just take it. i dont know your situation and you dont have to tell me, but i hope im helping"
