This adrenalineโcharged event pits snowmobiles and snow bikes against the steep climb of The Face, with racers battling the clock for the fastest ascent and a shot at cash payouts.

Race the Face is a timed uphill race, with each rider completing two runs. The best time counts toward final standings and cash prizes.

๐ Official Rules
To keep the competition fair and fast, all racers must follow these guidelines:
๐ One machine on course at a time (no sideโbyโside racing)
๐ท๏ธ One class per machine โ no doubleโclassing
๐ค One rider per machine โ no shared machines
๐๏ธ One rider per class โ riders cannot compete on multiple machines
โฌ๏ธ Machines may class up (e.g., Stock โ Open), but not down
๐ช Helmets required for all riders
๐๏ธ Race Classes
Each class is defined by machine specifications and allowed modifications:
๐ง Stock
No turbo from factory
No modifications except aftermarket muffler
โก Boost
Factory or aftermarket turbo
No other modifications except aftermarket muffler
๐ฉ Modified
Any exhaust, intake, or engine modifications
Turbo allowed
โ No nitrous
๐ฅ Open
Any modifications allowed
Nitrous permitted
๐๏ธ Timbersled Snow Bike
Dedicated class for snow bike competitors
๐ Registration
๐๏ธ First come, first served
๐จ Maximum: 40 machines
๐ต Entry fee: $50 per rider/machine
๐ฅ๏ธ Online registration closes: Friday, Jan 16 at 11:59 PM
๐ข Dayโof registration (if space allows):
Guest Services, Main Chalet
7:30 AM โ 12:00 PM
Payment due at registration (no checks)
Each rider/machine/class combination requires its own registration.
๐ Staging Information
๐ Staging begins: 2:00 PM, Saturday, Jan 18
๐ Location: Near the Copper Chair at the end of Independence Trail
๐ป Unload machines by: 3:30 PM
๐ซ Machines may only be moved with staff approval
๐งญ Machines will be escorted to The Face in race order
๐ Machines are subject to classโcompliance inspection
๐ฐ Payout Structure
All payouts are issued by Red River Ski & Summer Area.
If a class has 5 or fewer machines:
๐ฅ 100% of class pot โ 1st place
If a class has 6โ9 machines:
๐ฅ 80% โ 1st place
๐ฅ 20% โ 2nd place
If a class has 10+ machines:
๐ฅ 70% โ 1st place
๐ฅ 20% โ 2nd place
๐ฅ 10% โ 3rd place
