Finally. After 78.2 hours, these two (three?) have their first on screen kiss. It's implied they have done it before, but for hours now I've been roleplaying a Rook that is just dying for Lucanis to make the first move, so I'm viewing it as their first regardless.

God Lucanis. You're lucky I like you. This was a torturous wait.

(my Rook looked quite cute in these scenes. I'll reload the save, get better screenshots, and edit them a bit. Maybe. If I have the patience.)

My only qualm with the "Mythal Ending" in Veilguard (what are we calling it? The Good Ending? True Ending?) is my Inquisitor. This is probably an effect of only three choices carrying over from the other games.

My Inquisitor was a male Lavellan who disbanded the Inquisition, romanced Dorian, and had Morrigan drink from the Well. He also chose to save Solas. Besides Dorian, Solas was the one my Lavellan was closest to - he respected him and found comfort in him, and the two shared quite a nice relationship. The betrayal hit him hard, yet he still took it by the reigns and went after Solas with good intentions.

I wish they could have shared a more intimate moment at the end. Obviously not as grandiose as the Solavellan one (I mean, I understand his girlfriend wanting to be with him in the Fade, but... obviously my Lavellan wouldn't do that lmao he has a life and a husband), but something a bit closer. Something more than kneeling and having one positive line of dialogue said at Solas.

Before it all, here's one of my coolest Lucanis (Spite) pictures yet. A shame the subtitles got in the way.

I really enjoyed this quest. Fighting a boss in a pool of blood was oddly epic, it was a pretty good setting for a fight. Especially if you play as a mage and imagine how tempting it must be for them to juuuustt use what's already so available, so ready, so much... better and faster.

Regardless. It's pretty obvious Illario is betraying the family and trying to pull some strings. The fact Zara called him "amatus" is proof enough.

However, that was my only qualm with this quest. I am playing a Tevinter elf. My elf speaks the language, he should know she was about to say "amatus", he should have had some dialogue about that. Oh well, one can just pretend he and Lucanis didn't quite get the word. It was an intense moment after all.

Anyway here's some piss poor pictures of the boss fight area plus some more Spite, Illario and Zara.

The fight itself was mid. Not the best in the game by far. The setting though? Easily one of my favourites, but I might be biased.

Man what in the ACTUAL FUCK is this Death Haunting for the Mourn Watchers' questline. I defeat a dragon that eats blight on the Crossroads and THIS is what's stressing me out? The Scarecrow was "hard" until I just combusted and changed my party to the Taash + Lucanis + (mage) Rook combo but this? This isn't fun anymore it's just annoying. What a fitting name. Death. It is killing my sanity.
