#quietus

I have a question about how the sharingan works in Quietus. How do the Uchiha's awaken it? Are they born with it and awaken it when they awaken their functions or do they have to go through a traumatic event like in cannon? If they are born with their sharingan, then how does the mangekyo work? Does their power just grow with them until they are strong enough to weld it?

This is a question that has been on my mind for a while lol😅. You're story is SO good that it has me making little fan-fics about it in my head and these little ff have gotten to the point where Sarada has been appearing in them.

Yeah, the basic Sharingan pretty much develops with them as they grow up/awaken their functions, but to evolve into the Mangekyo, that's also influenced by strong emotions like pain, trauma, anger, love. The losing eyesight thing doesn't really apply in the fic though, only if the eye is then in the stages of evolving again into another form. The Rinnegan is much more difficult to acquire, also through extreme trauma in the story's lore, and of course needs the merging of Senju and Uchiha DNA.

Im rereading your masterpiece on ao3 right now. Im at Chapter 49 and it was differend, than i rememberd. Is there a way to read the whole chapter (with the explizit scene)? If not, its totally fine. I love your story so much 🥰

For anyone who might be interested and who hasn't seen the announcements on the Quietus Discord server or on my X account, I've started to re-read Quietus and am revising the current chapters as I go along. I'm doing this to help remind myself of plot points I have forgotten, and this will hopefully also help motivate me to eventually work on new content if I find the time.

I also want to fix any inconsistencies in dialogue, descriptions, plot and characterisation that I come across. The aim is to do this and then write on to at least the point of Sakura's restoration, which would be a good place to set the fic on hold before the final arc. Let's see how motivated and inspired I get.

Revised chapters that have been reviewed will have a tick [✓] next to them in the chapter selection list. This is only being done on Ao3 for now because FF.net is a nightmare to update.

The Prologue and first five chapters following it have been revised so far (up to the one where Sakura first wakes up in the Underworld. Mostly palace descriptions were fixed, along with some dialogue and fleshing out some of Sakura's thoughts and reactions).

I'm not promising anything major, as I've had to stop and discontinue this story so many times over the years due to life getting in the way. I understand this has caused me to lose readers over the years, and many have likely forgotten what's happened in the story, including myself lol. But I'd like to see how far I can get, and for now am re-reading in the hopes that I'll find my lost motivation (and clear my writer's block) again.
